NEW: It really shouldn't take a @dcfireems battalion chief four times over 90 seconds to get DC911/@OUC_DC to answer the radio. It wasn't busy at the time, just before 1 am. I hope that @CMBrookePinto will demand Director McGaffin look at the video of the operations floor and publicly explain exactly what the fire/EMS dispatch side was doing instead of answering the chief. For at least six years, under two different directors, radio channels have been adandoned for minutes at a time with ZERO explanation and accountability. I have a few dozen recordings to prove this. It's a dangerous practice. When the same thing happened for five minutes on December 2nd, it impacted the care of a person who was in cardiac arrest. If McGaffin can't fix this chronic problem get someone who can. Maybe filing this complaint with @311DCgov will get an answer. Also, the battalion chief was calling to say the notes on the crash they were running indicated it might be in Prince George's County. Why does it take fire and EMS to tell DC911 to take action on the notes that are entered into the computer at the 911 center? Again, how about telling us what the cameras show everyone was doing instead of reading the notes/updates?
