Today, Kirloskar is a billion-dollar conglomerate, but every time we see a green field in Maharashtra, we are looking at the legacy of a failed drawing teacher who proved that the poison was actually the cure. Earlier, the British did not just sell steel; they sold doubt. They had spent yrs convincing Indian farmers that native iron was impure. Local superstition at the time suggested that iron was heavy & would trap the breath of the Mother Earth, leading to stunted crops. When Laxmanrao Kashinath Kirloskar introduced his plow, the British-aligned local landlords spread rumors that any crop grown with an iron plow would be toxic to the touch. Laxmanrao realized he was not fighting a better product; he was fighting a mythology. Laxmanrao’s move to prove the plow worked was pure cinema. He picked a patch in the Kundal region that was notorious for being a den of dacoits (bandits) & completely infested with prickly pear cactus. No farmer would touch it. He did not use laborers at 1st. He & his brothers worked the iron plow themselves on this cursed land. When the 1st harvest of groundnuts & sugarcane came out larger & healthier than anything the village had seen in a century, the farmers did not just buy the plow, they worshipped it. It is said that some farmers performed Aarti (prayer) to the iron plow before using it, effectively turning a British metal threat into a Swadeshi deity. The story of Kirloskarvadi is a masterclass in Guerilla Infrastructure. In 1910, Laxmanrao moved his factory to a literal wasteland provided by the Raja of Aundh. There was no water, no electricity, & most importantly, no transport. He needed the railway to stop at his factory to ship the plows. The British-run railway refused, saying a private factory did not justify a station. Laxmanrao built the station platform with his own money & proved that his factory was generating so much cargo traffic that the British were losing money by not stopping. They were forced to recognize the station. It became the 1st station in India named after an industrialist, a permanent scar on the British rail map. Remember, Laxmanrao was a Drawing Teacher. He had no formal engineering degree. He learned the secret of the joints by repairing bicycles. He realized that the British plows failed because they were designed for the soft, wet soil of England. They would snap in the sun-baked, rock-hard soil of the Deccan Plateau. He purposefully designed his plow to be modular. If a part broke, the farmer did not have to send it to London for repair; he could fix it with a simple blacksmith's hammer. He democratized repair, effectively ending the farmers' dependence on Imperial Engineers. Laxmanrao Kirloskar built a Culture of Self-Reliance. He took the untouchable (the dacoit-infested land), the impossible (iron in the soil), & the unauthorized (the private railway station) & forged them into an empire.

Yesterday it was Atul Subhash today it's Aman Sharma tomorrow there would be another name. Imagine a judge can't protect his life against the cruelty meted out by wife and in-laws. What would be the situation of a common man. It's high time marital laws in India need to be redrafted in a neutral way so as to protect the men's right as well.

#WATCH | Delhi | Judge dies by suicide in Safdarjung | Father-in-law of Judge Aman Kumar Sharma's sister says, "... I spoke to my son on the call who told me that they are taking Aman to Safdarjung Hospital. By the time I reached the hospital, the doctor had already declared him dead... As per the statement given by his father to the Police, around 10 pm last night, Aman had called him saying that he was distressed and it had become difficult for him to continue living. His father departed from Alwar right then and reached here around 12 in the night. Upon arriving, he learned that Aman had been having conflicts with his wife. He told his father that he had been harassed for the last two months. His wife (Swati) is a judicial officer, and her sister is an IAS officer (Nidhi Malik) currently posted in Jammu. According to Aman, Nidhi Malik had been interfering in his life, and she was controlling his household... Aman's father said that his daughter-in-law told him that if you don't leave from here, she would call the police... The next morning, Aman's father tried to contact his daughter-in-law's parents, but they had blocked his phone... Then an argument broke out in the house. So Aman's father went to the other room. According to him, Swati was extremely angry and shouting, while Aman was crying. After a while, the noise stopped. He waited for a while, thinking that the argument had been resolved. When he went to check up on them after some time, he asked Swati about Aman's whereabouts, to which she replied that she did not know. .. When he called Aman's mobile, he heard it ringing inside the bathroom. He knocked on the bathroom door and asked him to open the door. During this, Yudhvir (Swati's chacha) and Nidhi Malik arrived. They tried a lot, banged the furniture against the door, but the door didn't open. Then the neighbours told them that there was a window in the shaft. So they got a ladder. The guard Shankar climbed the ladder, broke the window and entered the bathroom. He found Aman hanging... Aman was 30 years old..."

In 1920, the British soap giants (Lever Brothers) had a problem. They could make us smell like a rose, but they could not survive the Indian skin. The heat, the rashes, & the tropical infections were the enemies of the Empire. K.C. Das (I will write about him separately) & the scientists at Calcutta Chemical did not try to mask the heat; they weaponized it. They created Margo... a soap that did not just wash us; it immunized us. The British scientists had tried for yrs to make a Neem soap. They failed. Because Neem oil is notoriously difficult to saponify (turn into soap) w/o losing its medicinal properties/smelling like rotting onions. The Indian chemists used a secret cold-process method. They managed to keep the azadirachtin (the active bug killer in Neem) alive in the bar. When people used Margo, they were not just smelling herbal. They were coating their body in a biological shield. During the massive cholera & smallpox outbreaks in the early 20th century, the Margo smell became the scent of the survivor. It was the only soap the British doctors could not find a flaw in, they were forced to use it themselves. The British had a habit of patenting Latin names. Neem’s scientific name is Azadirachta indica, but it was also called Margosa. K.C. Das shortened it to Margo to make it sound modern, crisp, & international, tricking the British-educated elite into buying a peasant's remedy disguised as a high-end luxury brand. It was the 1st time an Indian brand sold Ugliness as Honesty. The green color became a silent code for Swadeshi (Made in India). If a British officer saw a Margo bar in our house, he knew he was in the home of some1 who trusted the soil more than the Crown's chemicals. The British tried to replicate Margo by creating Neem-scented soaps back in Manchester. They could not get the bite. Margo used pure Neem oil extracted from trees in the Bengal heartland. The British eventually started buying Margo in bulk for their Army Canteens because the White Soaps were causing skin rot in the humid trenches of the North-East & Burma. The British Empire which claimed to civilize India was literally being kept from rotting away by a green bar of soap made by the very subjects they were trying to rule. Every bar of Margo sold helped fund the Swadeshi spirit. The profits were used to train Indian chemists so that India would never have to depend on a British laboratory again. Margo got into the most intimate parts of an Indian's life, their morning bath, & reminded them every single day through that sharp, bitter scent: "You belong to this land." Margo was the 1st brand to realize that "Bitter is Better." While the British were selling the dream of being European (the scent of roses), Margo was selling the reality of being Indian (the scent of Neem). Today, we see Neem extracts in every global skincare brand from L'Oréal to Body Shop. They are all chasing a ghost created in a Calcutta lab in 1920. They are trying to sell us the Green Revolution, but Margo was the 1 that fought the War of the Skin when it actually mattered.

The tragic death of Judge Aman Kumar Sharma is a reminder that no education, status or power makes a man invincible. At just 30, a man trained to uphold justice allegedly fell victim to harassment by his wife and sister in- law and not being able to take the pressure, he gave up on life. Biggest reason for male suicide in India is domestic issues/ family problems and men often choose not to share their sufferings and get emotionally choked. Being Strong or Successful shouldn't meant that someone suffer in silence. If you or anyone you know is being pushed to the brink, please remember that Suicide is never the answer. The system can be fought, but only if you’re here to fight it.

After 4th May, BJP must fight unapologetically for Hindus. The era of soft posturing is over. Time for a bold, uncompromising Hindutva agenda backed by hard policy, not just rhetoric. Every leader must find their voice the way CM Yogi Adityanath ji and Mama Himanta Biswa Sarma have. Speak the truth. Stand tall. Never flinch. The Hindu voter has stood by BJP with unmatched loyalty. They deserve leaders who will stand with them just as fiercely. Eleven years of groundwork is done. The foundation is laid. Now is the moment for the final, decisive push. No hesitation. No apologies. No retreat.

This entire hate speech debate in the Supreme Court is puerile and reeks of hypocrisy and cowardice. Who decides what is hate speech? Here, I dare milords to have the guts to call the public recitation of the verse claiming ‘Hindus are the worst of creatures’ as hate speech:

Attacking Sanatan from every front in India is very concerning. How can Christians ask for banning Sanatan in entire Goa ?? Seriously astonishing. ! Demanding a ban on "Sanatan" in the very land reclaimed from the sea by Bhagwan Parashuram?

@MattooShashank It's time for RSS and BJP to return to actual Hindu roots and spread the real Hindu values rather than blabbering communist, secular, colonial values coming through Gandhi and congress. That's what Dr.Hedgewar wanted RSS to do.

@MattooShashank Factually wrong. Pulikeshi,Vikramadithya, Samudragupta,Cholas,Mauryas,Lalitaditya to name few. But the Hindu kings followed the "Yudh Dharma" from the smrithis to ensure no common people got hurt, no unarmed people where harmed, and professions like agriculture were protected.

Puducherry CBSE schools have dropped French this academic year because the new 3-language policy allows only one foreign language, and English fills that slot. If French is removed from CBSE schools under the 3-language policy, who is responsible for: 1. Students who studied French from class 1 to 5 and now face discontinuity? 2. Private school French teachers facing job loss? Puducherry is proud of its French roots. Shouldn't we have a policy to Protect French education here? #SaveFrench #Puducherry #FrenchTeachers #EducationPolicy #cbseresults
