@NotA_Bull Just buying index funds pretty much guarantees the portfolio to double every 7 years. It removes all the emotion, the stress and saves a lot of time. Just owning a few ETFs and we're set. Of course it's not as fun for people willing to be more involved.

@QC_Capitals 0%. I only work part-time now so my income is just enough to pay all my bills. So I watch my investment portfolio grow, but I can't be too adventurous, I can't risk losing too much so I go the safe and conservative way, protecting my assets more than aiming at home runs.

I would say 200K. If we go very conservatively with a 7.2% return, it takes 10 years to double the value. So 400K by age 40 and 800K by age 50. And that is if the person doesn't invest more between 30 and 50 which is very unlikely. Just a small extra 200$ a month during those 20 years would push the final amount up to 906K. That generates around 75K to 90K per year in revenues without ever touching the principal.
