We’ve been intensely cooking Gemini 3 for a while now, and we’re so excited and proud to share the results with you all. Of course it tops the leaderboards, including @arena, HLE, GPQA etc, but beyond the benchmarks it’s been by far my favourite model to use for its style and depth, and what it can do to help with everyday tasks.

Gemini 3 Pro is the new leader in AI. Google has the leading language model for the first time, with Gemini 3 Pro debuting +3 points above GPT-5.1 in our Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index @GoogleDeepMind gave us pre-release access to Gemini 3 Pro Preview. The model outperforms all other models in Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. It demonstrates strength across the board, coming in first in 5 of the 10 evaluations that make up Intelligence Index. Despite these intelligence gains, Gemini 3 Pro Preview shows improved token efficiency from Gemini 2.5 Pro, using significantly fewer tokens on the Intelligence Index than other leading models such as Kimi K2 Thinking and Grok 4. However, given its premium pricing ($2/$12 per million input/output tokens for <200K context), Gemini 3 Pro is among the most expensive models to run our Intelligence Index evaluations. Key takeaways: 📖 Leading intelligence: Gemini 3 Pro Preview is the leading model in 5 of 10 evals in the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, including GPQA Diamond, MMLU-Pro, HLE, LiveCodeBench and SciCode. Despite the improvement in token efficiency from Gemini 2.5 Pro, Gemini 3 Pro Preview costs more to run. Its higher token pricing of $2/$12 USD per million input/output tokens (≤200k token context) results in a 12% increase in the cost to run the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index compared to its predecessor, and the model is among the most expensive to run on our Intelligence Index. New breakthrough quantum algorithm published in @Nature today: Our Willow chip has achieved the first-ever verifiable quantum advantage. Willow ran the algorithm - which we’ve named Quantum Echoes - 13,000x faster than the best classical algorithm on one of the world's fastest supercomputers. This new algorithm can explain interactions between atoms in a molecule using nuclear magnetic resonance, paving a path towards potential future uses in drug discovery and materials science. And the result is verifiable, meaning its outcome can be repeated by other quantum computers or confirmed by experiments. This breakthrough is a significant step toward the first real-world application of quantum computing, and we're excited to see where it leads.

Anna Bortsova, a Google UX Engineer, used Gemini 2.5 Pro to generate text-to-video prompts for Veo 3 and created a series of charming paper engineering stop-motion animations with paper-rustling sounds. After experimenting in the @GeminiApp to help with prompt writing, she learned that a well crafted ‘meta-prompt’ describing the 8-second shot (textures, materials, and animation style) consistently generated high-quality Veo 3 prompts. This approach helped her dedicate her creative focus to exploring diverse video themes, while Gemini handled prompt writing. To create this summer-inspired beach animation, Anna asked the @GeminiApp to craft prompts specifically for video LLMs like Veo 3. Then she used the generated prompts and the 'video' tool in Gemini to make several vivid and stylized videos.
