So, baseline, you can't just go around smacking people--that's a simple (misdemeanor) battery. That said, there are various legal defenses/excuses to a charge of simple battery in this scenario. One would be self-defense, which obviously doesn't apply here. Another legal defense/excuse that IS relevant here is consent--if he consented to the slap, the slap is not an offense. If a reasonable person would believe he consented to this slap--and there's evidence in the video to support this view--then no crime. To the extent he would argue "I said that, but I was being sarcastic, I didn't mean it, that wasn't genuine consent," I'd argue that it doesn't matter when HE MEANT, it matters what the OTHER PARTY REASONABLY HEARD. Separately, whatever this dude is doing, it's clearly not IQMAXXING. @Timcast
