Our Chair @PaulaBarkerMP moved a Westminster Hall debate today on rough sleeping among families with children. @itvnews spotlighted how children across the country are being forced to sleep rough. bit.ly/4bGBcXV This must end.

We thank our APPG member @PaulaBarkerMP, who also co-chairs @HomelessAPPG, for tabling this important debate. We are shocked at the revelation of children being forced to sleep rough and welcome the Minister's proactive response @Alison_McGovern.

We met with the Minister for Homelessness @Alison_McGovern at the @HomelessAPPG to discuss the National Plan to End Homelessness. We will continue to work with the Government to action the Strategy's bold targets, such as eliminating the use of B&Bs for families and children.

Now with the APPG on Ending Homelessness hearing from @crisis_uk about how statutory statistics on homelessness catch only the tip of the iceberg of this huge issue. But both going upwards but Core at nearly 300,000 up sharply (22%) since 2022

Today, I was pleased to attend the APPG for Ending Homelessness AGM with the Minister for Local Government and Homelessness, Alison Mcgovern MP.

In her contribution @PaulaBarkerMP spoke about how the freezing of housing benefits is making many homes in her area unaffordable for those in need. The Chancellor must restore the link between housing benefits and the real cost of renting.
