Congratulations to Rt. Hon. @ObothOboth on your election as Speaker and to Rt. Hon. @Thomas_Tayebwa as Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament. Wishing you both success as you serve the nation in your respective roles.

Regarding this Parliament, I have been patient before, but this term there will be no room for leaders who seek titles without helping the people they lead. I am directing NRM leaders to return to the parishes and ensure that existing government programmes are lifting people out of poverty. I do not want to hear excuses about poverty while solutions already exist. Ministers and government officials who fail in this responsibility will be held accountable. This is Kisanja no sleep . Enough is enough.

Today, I witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of the Mayor and Councillors of Njeru Municipality at the Municipal Headquarters. I congratulate Mayor Kyazze Yasin, all Councillors, and the Council Committee upon your swearing-in. I am confident that together we shall continue to champion the development and transformation of Njeru Municipality for the benefit of our people. I also extend my congratulations to all Councillors across Buikwe District who have taken the oath of office. I wish you a successful term as you serve your communities with dedication, integrity, and commitment.

'0peration Maliza Ufisadi' has just began, already we have retrieved quite a lot of the people's money and property. Everything will be returned to the Treasury. I will give a partial report soon. I advise all government officials to co-operate fully with the security services...in order to avoid arrest.

I shall say one more thing today. The entire budget for roads in Kampala will be under my control (CDF). I will determine who builds and repairs roads.

On the issue of Deputy Speaker, after getting guidance from the Commander-in-Chief, all PLU MPs and PLU leaning MPs will support Rt.Honourable @Thomas_Tayebwa for that position. Congratulations Rt.Honourable.
