@Marcus_Mosher It's the only reason I wouldn't be upset if we took him in Chicago. Get him next to Joe Thuney with our OL coach for a few years. I love the upside, but the destination will be big for him.

I watched every pressure allowed by Proctor during his career last night. Some really, really egregious reps. But there is no doubt that he is talented. I really hope he goes to a team with a strong OL room and coach.

@SwiftyNetwork Chiefs first Super Bowl win was in 2019 right after they traded for Clark. Similar for Rams with their trades. I agree good teams are built through the draft. Rams, Eagles and Chiefs 3 good recent examples of how trading a 1st+ for a key piece can put you into the next level.

Well you are missing a HUGE point here - Chiefs were already a Super Bowl team. Rams already went to a Super Bowl with Jared Goff BEFORE they started trading picks. These teams were STILL built through the NFL draft. They then SUPPLEMENTED by adding talent after they were ALREADY a Super Bowl team. Its completely different and NOT the same thing.

The Rams are the EXCEPTION, not the RULE. Every other Super Bowl team has been built through the NFL Draft. Also the Rams went all in on an OLD QB and face a long rebuild. The Bears have a 24 Year Old ICEMAN at QB. Let's not get those confused. #Bears #Bearsnation
CeeVee3 (Shemar Turner FC)@CeeVee3YT

Some of yall are so afraid of giving up 3 firsts for one of the greatest DEs to ever play the game who is still in his prime, yet we’ve seen the Rams trade away twice as many 1sts in a span of 5 years and it resulted in a ring.

@jacobinfante24 @PFSN365 Wanted to try the method Seattle did last year. Attack the trenches round 1 (Zabel for them) and then move up for a falling safety (Emmanwori for them) early round 2. Poles rarely trades up early on, but this helps him get impact players to win now and fills long term needs.

@Jason_OTC Why does it matter in regards to a contract with the no trade provision? Just wondering why they would do this now or in what scenarios it could make sense for a team to do this.

This is a very odd move for a contract with a no trade provision. There is zero cap benefit to the Browns and Garrett, Im assuming, is now deferring $10M that was going to be paid now to the fall. I guess maybe a bigger payment in the fall when they pick it up?
Field Yates@FieldYates

The Browns and refining Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett agreed to some modified language in his contract this week that provides some cap flexibility for the team going forward, as well as some option bonus payment benefit for Garrett: espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…

@Marcus_Mosher The real question I have is why did the production he had in 2024 fall off in 2025. Went from 11 tackles for loss and 7 sacks in 2024 (PFF has him at 9 sacks), to the drop the next year of only 3 tfl and 1 sack. Did average 30 hurries/season, but not sure what happened.

@SwiftyNetwork It's not even worth it. Bears could win a SB and there'd be a weird corner of the fanbase that would call it a fluke. Or more likely say It's Ben's Superbowl anyways, Poles just got lucky multiple times and did nothing else.

This is quite possibly the worst take of all time. "Blew up the team" - 6-11 with a TERRIBLE Roster "6 Years and nothing" - This was Poles 4th Year as GM -1st Playoff Win in 15 Years☑️ -Franchise QB☑️ -STUD Head Coach☑️ -Overturned ENTIRE Roster☑️ I guess that is "Nothing" 😂
Michael Crane@MikeJCzapla

@moviefan_2000 @SwiftyNetwork We blew up the team all that time ago to be worse. 6 years and nothing to show for it.

@zenochglobal Chiefs GM wasn't on the list from 2022 I responded on. Lions GM was the only exception really for the top 5 at least.

@StevePalazzolo_ - Rams GM in place 10+ years. - Seahawks GM in place 10+ years - Bucs GM in place 10+ years - Eagles GM in place 10+ years Looking at the history of how long it took some of those GMs to hit their success level is why I recommend to fanbases to have patience when it comes to GMs

@TheListFinsPod We (Chicago) did hire Miamis former RB coach. Swift was great last year but pairing Achane with Monangai the next 3-4 years in Ben Johnson's offense is a dream.

@daverichard Ben Johnson about to replace D'Andre Swift for the second time in 4 years. (I'm mainly joking, swift was great last year). Though achane/Monangai the next 4 years in this offense is a lot of fun.

We know De'Von Achane is in the last year of his contract. We know the 2026 draft is light on stud RBs & lots of teams are looking for stud RBs. And we know the Dolphins are open to moving their top players for picks. Could we see Achane traded between now and late April?

@SharpFootball I think this is somewhat flawed due to since 2022. Howie Roseman has drafted WRs at the highest rate in the NFL over the last decade, just happened to draft devonta and use another first to trade for AJ Brown during this time.

@DaBearNecess It has been about two decades since the Bears were good at drafting and developing any position groups besides maybe RB. Its why we've slowly declined basically since then. No need for Brett to single out DL.

Brett is exactly right on struggling to develop homegrown talent on the DL. At the same time, part of the lack of hits likely relates to infrequent premium picks used to address it. Like, the Bears last used a top-50 pick on a DL/pass-rusher with Leonard Floyd in 2016.
104.3 The Score@thescorechicago

It has been about two decades since the Bears were good at drafting and developing homegrown players who produced a good pass rush, as @BrettKollmann discussed with Rahimi, Harris & Grote.

@usaydkoshul Poles did mention his board is about 50 names less than normal this year. I actually wondered if he goes more for quality over quantity with this draft. Maybe doing what Seattle did last year when they drafted Zabel in the first and moved up early 2nd for Emmanwori.

@TFG_Football Now we're at a point where we have so many weapons on offense we can offload WRs for a 2nd round pick and still feel great about our offense. Crazy turnaround with Poles as our GM. He handled that situation really well to get us to a great spot long term.

@SmokingJayTakes @jacobinfante24 Every Poles draft is pretty similar. Always picking twice round 1 or 2, usually trades back at least twice (once day 1/2 and once day 3), reasonable BPA round 1 and 2, usually a high end athlete need round 3 or 4, fill roster day 3 and get a solid udfa.

Bad news: the #Bears defensive line is still a major concern Good news: I've always said that I love when teams attack the trenches heavy in the draft, and it looks like Poles is gonna have to do that with DL by default
