US President Donald Trump on Sunday asserted South Africa was "confiscating" land and "treating certain classes of people very badly" as he announced he was cutting off all future funding to the country pending an investigation. brnw.ch/21wQqre

This is bad for South Africa. Trump posted the below late last night. It has clearly been triggered by the Expropriation Bill. During his first term he had already threatened to “take a close look” at SA’s land expropriation law. Rand is currently 1.9% weaker.

JSE: Nasty sell-off in the last half-hour once US markets opened. Financials held up quite well, with only OUT and Capitec down >1%. Resources are a big concern, with the Resi down 7% for the month (so far).
