@SumitM_X Two big reasons: 1. Uniqueness without coordination. UUIDs can be generated anywhere (client, multiple services, separate DBs) with zero risk of collision. 2. They don't leak info. /users/42 reveals signup order and rough user count. /users/a3f1... reveals nothing.

As a developer, have you asked yourself : why do we need UUIDs when auto-increment IDs exist?
