@runstop Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. I'm not sure what you mean tho? If anything, the camera slows down near the map boundaries to a complete stop. Or are you talking about when transitioning from zone to zone? If so then yeah, it has to speed up to frame the player.

@Hyohnoo Nice work! The camera feels smooth and responsive overall. One thing that caught my eye was what seemed like a slight increase in movement speed near the map boundaries. I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but it stood out to me from the regular camera movement.

@washpotatod Not really. It can be anywhere in the node tree. It has an exported target variable that it uses to retrieve the position at the end of every frame.

@Hyohnoo is the camera attached to the player?

@PlasticCupGames It is much easier. I use the built in collision system in Godot, so I didn’t even have to code it.

@Hyohnoo I wonder if GODOT is easier with slopes than GameMaker? Adding slopes is mathematical hell sometimes.

@Hyohnoo That looks cool. I dont use godot so i wondered if you could let me know, is that a tiled map or have you used larger objects?

@Carkol32 Godot already has a feature in the physics engine for that, but I have it turned off. I just use the get_floor_normal function to get the floor angle and calculate the velocity myself for more control.

@chipmunkbazooka Yeah, I love that game's movement system so much. I also want to add some other movement options I always felt it were missing.

@Hyohnoo Super clean! 🔥 Are you referencing Mario Odyssey’s movement by chance? Reminds me of a prototype I’m working on and Odyssey was a big inspiration, It’s awesome to see it so fluid in 2D

@TheChaixxy It's actually not. The syntax is very simple, Especially if you know Python. The only difficult part, I would say, is understanding how nodes work and hierarchy of how they execute.

@panphora This wasn't really one tutorial. I only used Brackeys' tutorial to get familiar with the engine, and then relied on the documentation and various very specific tutorials, since I already have experience with other game engines.

@PolyPop3D Yes. I use a tile map with Godot's terrain feature to auto tile them.
