Abiy Ahmed’s leadership demonstrates significant strategic shortcomings and a lack of fitness for effective governance. #Ethiopia in danger
Dawit@HOAAffairs

Abiy Ahmed: The Messianic Delusion of the Sick Man of the Horn. I. Lakes, Ponds, and Irredentist Fantasies In the first video, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed ventures into geopolitical metaphor, likening Ethiopia to a vast lake and dismissing neighboring sovereign states as mere ponds. Such rhetoric is not merely grandiose but perilously destabilizing. It signals an irredentist posture fundamentally at odds with the principles of the United Nations Charter, the Constitutive Act of the African Union, and binding bilateral agreements, particularly with Eritrea. The Prime Minister’s assertion that Ethiopia “must have access to the sea” under threat of regional instability is an open affront to international law, which recognizes the sovereign territorial integrity of states and prescribes diplomacy as the avenue for economic cooperation, including port access. To reduce entire nations to peripheral puddles in Ethiopia’s hydrological imagination is a dangerous minimization of the agency, sovereignty, and dignity of neighboring peoples. Such language betrays an imperial nostalgia utterly divorced from the complex interdependence and legal frameworks governing the Horn of Africa. II. #Ziquala Monastery and the Abyss of Impunity The second video, wherein Abiy responds to the murder of an Orthodox monk at Ziquala Monastery, exposes the hollowness of his habitual pledges of investigation and accountability. Ethiopia, under his watch, has become a graveyard of unkept promises and unpunished atrocities. The massacre at Ziquala, like the countless other massacres targeting Amhara Orthodox Christians, is met with perfunctory expressions of regret, but no substantive action. The pattern is tragically clear: the state deploys rhetoric of national unity and piety while systematically abandoning entire communities to the predations of militias and state-affiliated death squads. The Prime Minister’s dismissive posture toward Ziquala underscores a moral chasm between his public declarations and the brutal reality on the ground, where religious sanctuaries have become sites of slaughter, desecration, and impunity. III. Tigray, Global Indifference, and Abdication of Responsibility In the third video, Abiy pivots to the specter of renewed conflict in Tigray, suggesting that the world will no longer heed the region’s plight as it once did. Invoking Sudan’s ongoing chaos and the distractions of global geopolitics, he frames potential war as a local matter, scarcely deserving external intervention. This rhetorical maneuver is profoundly cynical, as it trivializes human suffering and signals to belligerents that mass violence might now proceed without international scrutiny. It also conveniently absolves the federal government of its duty to prevent conflict through meaningful dialogue and genuine reconciliation. Abiy’s posture reveals a leader eager to distance himself from accountability, content to cast Ethiopia’s crises as mere background noise in a distracted world, while the nation teeters on the brink of further fragmentation and humanitarian disaster. @UN @_AfricanUnion @AfricanUnionUN @hawelti @EUCouncil

Brother, writing is no easy task—it requires immense effort, investment, and it stands as one of the most meaningful contributions one can offer to Eritrea. Many in the Diaspora don’t fully grasp the challenges or the level of commitment it demands. I say this from deep personal experience. That’s why I’m truly proud of what you’re doing. Your work will leave a lasting mark. Incredibly proud of you! #EritreaPrevails #Eritrea

🌍 Eritrea 🇪🇷–USA 🇺🇸 Relations: A Potential Game-Changer for the Horn of Africa 🌊 🔔 The truth no one tells: 👉 Eritrea has never acted against U.S. interests. 👉 Yet, the U.S. has stood against Eritrea—not for what Eritrea did, but for what it refused to become: submissive. ✅ Here’s what a healthy 🇪🇷🇺🇸 relationship could unlock: 🟢 Regional Stability Boost Eritrea’s stability and self-reliant policy can be a solid anchor in a volatile Horn: ➡️ 🇸🇩 Sudan – Torn by civil war ➡️ 🇪🇹 Ethiopia – Engulfed in ethnic conflicts ➡️ 🇸🇴 Somalia – Battling terrorism ➡️ 🇾🇪 Yemen – Humanitarian catastrophe 🟢 Strategic Red Sea Security Eritrea controls 1,200km coastline, including: 🌊 Dahlak Archipelago: Red Sea Choke point ⚓ Assab Port — key to Red Sea maritime stability 🟢 Geo-Strategic Leverage Eritrea is already courted by China 🇨🇳, Russia 🇷🇺, and Arab giants 🇪🇬🇸🇦. 🇺🇸 The U.S. risks being left behind. 📢 Eritrea’s Reasonable Expectations: 🚫 Lift all Unjust and unilateral sanctions 🚫 End demonization, disinformation, & regime-change plots 🤝 Engage in mutual respect — Eritrea bows to no power, but welcomes fair cooperation. 🔄 Why Eritrea Must Also Engage Proactively: 🔹 Advocate for national interest — diplomacy strengthens sovereignty 🔹 Create space for economic growth and security cooperation 🔹 Foster people-to-people dialogue between Eritrean and American communities 🔚 The US–Eritrea reset is not about ego — it’s about regional peace, mutual interest, and a brighter future. ✊🏾 #EritreaUSReset | #RedSeaStability | #LiftTheSanctions | #HornPeaceNow #GeopoliticsInMotion | #RespectSovereignty | #EritreaForPeace | #StrategicAllies

🚨 🇪🇷Eritrea’s Patience is Being Weaponized! Eritrea’s Restraint = Abiy’s Manipulation Fuel 🇪🇷 vs 🇪🇹 Abiy’s Regime Plays the Aggressor & the Victim — Don’t Fall for It! Eritrea's measured restraint is being manipulated by Abiy’s propaganda machine. It’s time to expose the lies — loud and clear. 🔥 Dear Mr. Yemane (@hawelti ) & Eritrean Leaders — Time to Step Forward Boldly: 🔴 Abiy’s Strategy Is Clear: 🔴 Spreads nonstop propaganda claiming Eritrean ports 🔴 Violates Eritrea’s sovereignty with zero consequences 🔴 Cries “victim” to the international community when challenged 🎯 What Eritrea Should Be Doing More: ✅ Consistently call out Abiy’s regime on global platforms 🌍 ✅ Expose his lies with facts, history & legal proof (EEBC 2002 ruling) ✅ Document & broadcast Eritrea’s peace-first actions (including troop withdrawals from its own sovereign land) ✅ Pressure the UN & AU to break their silence on Ethiopia’s provocations ✅ Stop letting silence be mistaken for weakness ⚠️ Why Is Abiy Desperate for War? 🔻 Domestic collapse is closing in: 🧨 Ongoing civil wars in Amhara, Oromia, and Tigray 📉 Economic freefall & soaring cost of living 🧩 Opposition forces are uniting — and Abiy is the common target 🧨 Here is why Abiy desperately needs war to: 🔄 Distract public rage ⏳ Buy time to cling to power 📺 Rewrite the narrative internationally ✊ Eritrea’s Position Is Clear: ✔️ Peace is the priority ✔️ Sovereignty is non-negotiable ✔️ Abiy’s war drums will not shake Eritrean resolve ✔️ If war is forced — Eritrea will end it quickly and decisively 🛑 Enough Silence. Time to Expose the Game. Eritrea must raise the alarm before it's blamed for Abiy’s chaos. His regime has mastered the art of provoking and pretending — now it’s time to call it out. 🏷️ #Hashtags To Amplify The Truth #EritreaForPeace 🇪🇷 #ExposeAbiyLies 🇪🇹 #HornOfAfricaTruth #SovereigntyUnderThreat #NoToWarGames #UNSilentOnAbiy #EritreaKnows #StopAbiyProvocation #PeaceNotPropaganda
