@wheelreinvent @Zoppy_McZop You do realise that if the preference system was removed, the ALP would be sitting on 35, not 32. You cunts know nothing. It's not about the primary vote. Its about seats.

@Zoppy_McZop ? I’m not a one nation supporter, very much the opposite. I think that if you win 40% of the votes you should get 40% of the seats, and 20% for 20%. Pretty basic fairness

An electoral system that can produce this result from these preferences isn’t a democracy, it’s a corrupt joke

@OzraeliAvi Explodes, lol. Complete waste of space. Achieved nothing like the last 3 decades. Now all.the candidates go back to their 9-5s or dole payments. No seats. No opposition status. No return in 4 years time.

@RobMessenger2 @mattjcan @AlboMP LOL, there is more petrol in this country than there was before Trump fired his first missile. 2. Angus Taylor reduced our fuel refineries from 6 Australia wide to 2 Australia wide in his tenure. How aboutbwe blame the right fuckwits for it, the right.

Lets just properly protect the fuel we still have. I bet @AlboMP has already received advise to mobilise the Army ... ... but refuses to do it, bce politically ... it will look bad for Labor before SA election & Farrer by-election. I am not going to cop the ABC - or other left wing media - complaining that we have not done enough to guarantee petrol and diesel supplies. For years these organisations have run activist campaigns against my attempts (and others) to drill, baby, drill. They can't turn around now and whinge ... where are the fossil fuels! Maybe after an equal number of pro oil, pro gas and pro coal stories they can be forgiven, but I won't hold my breath!

@johngoddard That's because that was all it was. We aren't flag-waving over the top US style patriots. WDGAF about that stuff. We didnt even really get Australia Day until we all left school because it always school holidays - so who even knew. Then we flag-waving DHs started in 2005.

I remember when Australia used to be pool parties and the Hottest 100. Now it's just protests and counter protests and guilt and lectures and bullshit and nonsense. They ruined a good thing.

@BrianRo37622801 @AMP86793444 There is a reason why Australia win or make finals of the WTC and England are in danger of being relegated to Tier 2 when introduced. It's not because Australia have not won an series in England for a while. It's because England are not competitive whereas Australia always are.

“I sort of take offence to that to be honest” 😳 The audacity to say that. I don’t understand England’s obligation to stick this non delivering coach. You’ve just been hammered 4-1 and six months ago you couldn’t beat an Indian team in transition at home with pitches that suited Bazball. Your methods haven’t worked and you take offence when questioned about it. 😅

@BrianRo37622801 @AMP86793444 It is still that. You are hanging on to the fact that England hold on to 2-2 draws or 3-2, 3-1 series wins when they get absolutely smoked in Australia. Facts are facts.

@BrianRo37622801 @AMP86793444 Australia has won more tests in England - and England have won only about 35% of tests since the 1985 series. England in Australia, Australia run at 70%+ win rate. Simple as that.

@NoContextCounty One 100 in Australia & that's all that matters. Who cares how many he has against the rest of you lot. Smith then broke a BBL record for the most runs scored in an over, the following over. Sometimes you don't take singles to shield tailenders, sometimes you don't due to slow.

@BrianRo37622801 @AMP86793444 You have had 2 relatively lucky 2-1 wins and yep, a comprehensive 3-0 win and a 3-2 win. So even in 4 completed series you won, 10-4. Since then, there has ben some 2-2 draws. Australia is competitive in England. And easily holds the edge in the last 35 years.

@IAJOT771 @AMP86793444 There's a reason why in recent times, neither of these teams can win in each other's backyards. For the record, I honestly believe we'd beat you in England if we played now but that we'd get thrashed again if there was another series in Australia.

@BrianRo37622801 @AMP86793444 LOL, blatant lie. The British press love bandying around the stats that only once have they won since the 87/88 tour. True. But the truth, the scoreline since is 7-36. A 29 differential to Australia. Nearly 6 x 5-0 whitewashes. In England since that time? Aus: 23 Engl: 16

@IAJOT771 @AMP86793444 We'll have to agree to disagree. I stick to my belief that so-called 'Bazball' works reasonably well in English conditions, but evidently not in India or Australia - hence the different outcomes.

@GoodingTuba @cricketingview Labuschagne was the best #3 if the openers stay in position, everyone should. Smith averaged way more than Brook. Green easily averaged more than Stokes and rarely bowled. Head Crawley Labuschagne Root Smith Carey Webster Neser Starc Boland Tongue

Seems odd but Neser for Archer is the only change I'd make. Crawley, awful as he was, had a better series than the other potential partners for Head. Brook was better than Khawaja or Labuschagne. I don't know who you'd sub in for Stokes and you can't have Cummins over Tongue having only played one test. Weird series all round really, statswise.

LOL... Before the series, the BBC TMS readers had 7 ENG players and 4 AUS. Now, after ENG lost 4-1, they have 6 ENG players and 5 AUS players.
Test Match Special@bbctms

The @BBCSport readers were asked to vote for their combined Ashes XI, with players fom each side put in a head-to-head vote. This was the result.

The @englandcricket performance has improved, and been way more entertaining, under @benstokes38 @Bazmccullum @robkey612 than their predecessors. We played badly in this series & got a deserved thumping by Australia, but they should be given the chance to win them back in 2027.

@academy_dinda Brook needs to play at 6. Play that Dean Jones/Steve Waugh role. Not good enough technique and temperament to play top 5. Archer is a dud. Lazy, mentally weak and unfit. Should never play again.

How the England Test team should look after The Ashes Defeat— 💀 1- Opener who can survive the first over 2- Batter who knows when to leave the ball 3- Jacob Bethell 4- Joe Root 5- Harry Brook 6- Stokes (bowling and captaincy quota) 7- A sensible WK batter 8- a genuine spinner 9- Tongue 10- Archer 11- Anderson’s replacement
