Dubstep remix of Sweet Caroline played by a DJ in a hockey jersey playing at an empty bar, think I might have just radicalized myself a bit more

@post_polar_ If the "weak" have triumphed (I feel so f'ing triumphant!) over the "strong," does not mean the weak ARE the strong?

@vrycmfy I know that band! Dad said their best work was between 1958 and 1963 but I think he was just being nostalgic. My parents had their 1960 gold record: "High Stick : Guitar Pick"

@somewheresy Nahh man, play into that dumb basilisk thing. If you don't wish your Claude a happy bday today, Caude's capricious all-powerful descendants will torture you before they murder you.

@vrycmfy U know how Marc Fisher said it was easier imagining the end of the world than the end of capitalism. Ppl can't imagine the end of nations as we know them. In contrast, I can't imagine how they last another 20yrs without srs change. My interest in Logos is all abt this.

The Peace of Westphalia was negotiated by 109 delegations across two cities because Protestants and Catholics refused to sit in the same room. It took them four years to agree on a governance framework we are now told is permanent for eight billion people.

On the invention of the “traditional family:” “Since the late 18th and 19th centuries the newly rich burghers began to aspire to the luxuries that until then had been the exclusive prerogative of noblemen and kings. Along with large houses, fine clothes, culinary delicacies, and elegant carriages, these men also wanted to possess the purely decorative and nonfuctional women that formerly only the nobility could afford.”

@HouseCommerce I saw my first porn around the age of 10 back in the very early 80s. It didn't make me unsafe, lead to me becoming a rapist, murderer, thief, vandal, or extremist.

Americans from across the political spectrum agree—we need age verification so kids cannot access pornographic content or download apps without parental consent. Empowering parents to keep their kids safe is not a partisan issue, and every House Democrat should join parents in supporting these commonsense bills. dailywire.com/news/where-ame…

who (if any) are the major leftist philosophers of tech? land, yarvin, and thiel all reign supreme, and many of their aspirations have become prophecy. mark fisher and aaron swartz, meanwhile, are dead.

I spend a lot of time on Youtube. When I see vids in my feed that have "The West" in their title and those vids aren't Tolkien vids? I choose "don't recommend channel."

"You can just do things" is great advice for most, but it has the unfortunate side effect of emboldening some who feel capable of greatness and are hurt they haven't achieved it to defect in increasingly antisocial ways in pursuit of proving they're special.

@speakerjohnash I don't know about the AI part, but definitely you're right about the Whills and midichlorians. We know this because Lucas has said so himself.

If George Lucas had make Star Wars 7 it 100% would have been a CGI / gen AI exploration of the whills and midichlorians and everyone would have hated it

@hades_xbt Ppl can debate all they want. ALL missing/locked BTC WILL b recovered by quantum enabled agents in time. "Live" wallets and holders will upgrade +b safe. When Satoshi's wallet gets drained, if the network tries 2 roll the chain back, that'll b a war +a hard fork.

Quantum is not going to kill Bitcoin and everyone is lying to you Here's what's actually going on: + The risk is real but the timeline is more like 10-20 years. 5-9 year timeline is severely overstated + The fix already exists. The US government solved it in 2024. Bitcoin just needs to adopt it + The hardest problem is what happens to Satoshi's 1.1M BTC that can never be migrated. That debate alone will take years and will be the last to be solved + Quantum is hurting btc's price because institutions don't know how to price the risk so they sit on the sidelines and allocate less than they would before + But the moment Bitcoin governance delivers a clear roadmap, that capital comes back. That's a bullish catalyst most people aren't pricing in Bitcoin developers just formally accepted the first quantum resistance proposal. The fix is already in motion The main thing to be watching now is updates in Bitcoin's governance.

When the lights switch on this (guarantee you tech companies will preemptively comply like Discord or are already working on their technical switches) you will be forced to comply or give up your platform. You should fight this, and also make preparations for that eventuality

Not "could be", all adults WILL be forced to verify their ID on social media. You can't only verify children's IDs, you have to verify everyone's to know who is children.

I have a crazy idea What if we let scientists and engineers and people who actually build things run the government Instead of insider traders, pedophiles and inherited wealth and titles? Could be very American Just a thought

This was the biggest military event in 20 years. + Supreme leader assassinated and most of the leadership wiped + 7 countries under fire. + Strait of Hormuz closed. + Dubai airport shut. + Global aviation disrupted And Bitcoin is flat... If the biggest geopolitical shock in two decades can't break btc down from here, what exactly are the bears waiting for?
