#WorldFishMigrationDay The extent that #salmon are delayed at #BarriersToMigration even with passes can be staggering #Shrewsbury weir on the #Severn we have identified (by distinct features)individual fish from photo evidence. Two of those fish made attempts hourly for 4days.

Do you fish for barbel? 🎣 Comment what weight of pellets (fish based) and meats (E.g luncheon) do you use in a session and how many hours do you fish?

@JackPerksPhoto Just on the inside of that wall (riverside) is often good, the fish run up with the tide, if the tide matches a good increase in freshwater going out that’s even better

Watching leaping salmon today on the Trent near my house 1 so far giving it a go

Been asked by a friend to read some salmon scales but it's not something I'm very familiar with - is there someone who could help, please? All three scales are from the same fish that was 34" and caught last month in SE Scotland. My current guess is 2 years in fw and 2 at sea?

Brilliant progress on the @SevernUnlocked fish pass at Bevere weir too. Over 3/4 of the boulders are now in. We’re on track to be finished here during September. Thanks to all the team for their hard work

The river level is now low enough and the blockages under the sluice gates have now been removed. A few more checks to ensure there is no damage to the gates and then re-filling will begin.
