I helped a kid figure out a used Creality Sermoon D1 today... What an utter trash of a printer. I got it printing, but lacks every basic nicety.

@markemusgames I am in the same boat, the first WIP has taken a backseat... because I just can't properly focus on a complex 2nd book in a series while focusing on another complex 2nd book in another series.

I have two WIPs, and I wish I hadn't started the second one before I finished the first one. It's so distracting having two open projects at the same time, but I can't seem to focus on just one of them and finish it. I just keep switching back and forth.

@nivenrile The Thief games have been long time favorites of mine. Wish they'd make more.

I read in a book this morning about a character “notching” arrows, then getting chided for missing a shot because he shut one eye and “lost his perspective.” Maybe it’s because I’ve played the Thief games or my daughters are archers, but that took me right out of the book. (It’s “nocking” arrows, and shutting one eye is a helpful practice in honing in on a faraway target.)

@jzpitts @Variety Exactly. Hollywood wants to gin things up with weirdness sometimes, while the fans just want good, interesting action with great characters in a cool environment. I enjoyed the Blade movies.

@Charlie_Novels If you write a book and then start marketing, you'll sit on that "done" manuscript and the wait while you prepare will be difficult. Do both at the same time so that the release is complete, and you can feel satisfied immediately.

At what point as a to-be debut author do you create a website or link tree? During your first draft? After the final edits? Or once you have a release date secured?

So, hey, new book's coming out! Why not go back to B&N? Let bygones be bygones. It'll be fun! If you look for Bloodlust on B&N's store, you see a hardcover version. This is not my book. I am not Thomas K. Carpenter. But this is what I deserve for trying, I suppose. Sigh.

@SDDonovan Unless there is some stated beta-reader agreement or expectation communicated, there is no way I would send a message like this to a reader. Do we want reviews? Yes! But a simple, friendly message like "Hey, how did you like my book?" would suffice.

I read at my pace, one paperback at a time and one ebook. I am not a fast reader but I'm trying. Don't be like this guy.

As a caffeine sensitive individual, I can only occasionally handle multiple cups of coffee, and never up to 5 cups. Guess I’m doomed.

Thank you! Never heard of such a thing, but it does make sense, and I'll consider this going forward. I made a pit-cooked goat a few years ago and had the issue where my coals went out. It was 9+ hours of meat cooking, so I could not recover in time. The meat was "done" enough to be safe but not enough to be tasty. In this on Saturday, I was making pesto pasta and caprese chicken and some other stuff that would cool quickly. It all worked out, and my wife was happy.

Family dinner for my amazing wife's birthday... excellent food and family. It's the best. What a blessing! Only small stress for me was completing the all the hot items at the same time.

Awesome. I used the old Passport2Purity 2 years ago along with a lot of continual follow-up. The need to be an intentional father cannot be understated. There are great discussions around a man's purpose and what dating is intended for, why teens can't make proper choices in the dating area, the dangers of early dating and so-called "love", guarding the heart against "falling in love," how a man should treat and provide for a wife and what that means for the trajectory of the teen. Relationships following God's design will benefit and protect both parties and prevent guilt and addiction.

Starting to have the grown up talk about the birds and bees with the boy. Using Facing the Facts by Stan and Brenna Jones as a reference guide to keep it holy. We’re going to do a trade off where I read a chapter then he does, then we discuss. Advice is welcome.

My 9 year old nephew is over and I helped him cook his first steak. He said it’s so good it’s almost as good as Texas Roadhouse. I told him it’s better and he said, “it’s on the same level” 🤣
