@farmerschneck @FieldwalkerAg We have seen 50% catch at best even with increased seeding rates (10#+). Better to seed a post harvest legume (peas) as part of a fall cover crop.

With high nitrogen prices are you putting more red clover in winter wheat?

@IH_farmer 27,000 lbs, with the vf900's we can run them at 17psi

VF900/60R32 Tires on the rear who would have ever thought ! . That was a big front tire not long ago

@bigmothufacking after 4yrs of jd combines and 1 of claas, i can say with confidence that all combines are miserable necessities. The JD is great. The sieve/shoe is terrible You can save or clean, but not at the same time.The claas is the best for saving, but they are like a modified XLT

@Beaudrybilly @ShelbourneReyno Hey Billy, we’ve had one a few years now. Works well here in Ontario where we have short harvest window, often tough straw, and lodged. I’ll echo what the others have said about how well it picks up lodged crops.👍

Looking for @ShelbourneReyno stripper head user on twitter. With really challenging conditions around here and still many acres to harvest. Thinking of getting one but no one around that use one. Are they good in lodge wet straw? Don’t have the dry weather like Western conditions

@jasonmauck1 @SiekerSales If you were to use a miniature stripper head, 80% of the grain is already threshed. Perhaps a mini system to finish the job and leave the chaff between the bean rows?

Broadcast wheat looks alright at this stage.. was kinda streaky till about a month ago… She’s in good shape… for the shape she’s in… Minimal management Vs our normal program guess we will see how the $ shakes out!

@eckertacresltd Hey Mike. When we had our CCS I think 200ish lbs of seed was about max that we could get through the meter. Might be a bit more with fertilizer. I would suggest a lighter coat of seed treat to help with flowability.

Hi folks, can I hear from the crowd who blends wheat seed with MAP, would like to try some this year on a small scale because of blending setup, going to have MAP hit the same hopper as seed and let auger do mixing into air seeder tank. How precise do I need to be make an impact?

@JSCustomFarms @MaizeingPete @islandviewag @MdMcLean1 @cropdoc2 Winter canola works for bulk of Ontario. Spring canola is different animal, flowering in heat not ideal. Winter canola usually long done flowering long before summer heat sets in. Still doesnt help with corn residue issue.

@MaizeingPete Full rate drilled supposedly 30-40lb, but that would get spendy for a cover crop. Straight, doesn’t add too much biomass, which is why I like it in a mix with oats/peas, ect. I get seed from @StefanZehetner7 @HuronCoverCrop

@Noggle_Farms @Case_IH If it’s the Mag in your profile pic, prob has the wrong steer valve from the factory. Too small, same as ours. Tech tricked the 700 into thinking it had the bigger valve, works pretty good now
