I haven’t left the house in ages, but yet, I have severe tonsillitis, a temperature of 38.8 and I ache all over. I blame my child who goes to nursery and likes to bring other kid’s germs home. 😭 Great way to greet the Bank Holiday weekend. ☹️

You also need to check the moles and marks on your skin and get someone to check your back ! These things have a habit of creeping up on you and small enough to ignore, but please DON'T catching any cancer early increases your chances of survival. I have a black eye, courtesy of my child. I’m hungry, I’m tired, I’m poor and I’m sad. Amazing what make up and a filter can do.

@brupe @jk_rowling I read all the HP books and loved them, I reread them often, it’s my go to when I’m not feeling myself. When both my parents were in hospital or hospice care, I read then, too. It’s my comfort.

Sadly I won't be having dinner with @jk_rowling, so I'm sharing this here instead of over KFC with her. In 1999, in my 1st year of teaching, a year 7 boy came to me, a book clutched in his hands. He held it out, asked if I'd read it & offered to lend it to me. How could I refuse?

@AndyinBrum Baker was delayed with crawling and didn’t walk until he was 1.5 years old, he did those two things in hospital, too. Baker makes noises and knows what he wants, he’ll take you to what he wants or comes up to me and smiles, etc. Thanks, I’ll reach out to the groups.

@ILoveToPout But his speech was also held back because of his hearing loss and the way the mouth and tongue are usually formed for people with Downs

Does anyone have any experience with Global Developmental Delay? I think Baker either has that or autism, (waiting for an appointment for a diagnosis). It’s like he’s around a year behind, he’s still not talking & he’s three. I also feel like he’s going through the terrible 2’s.

@AndyinBrum We asked the question, and it was brushed aside, but, I’m on some groups, so will ask them. I think it’s all the hospital stays within the first year and it made him take a step back.

@ILoveToPout I’m assuming you’ve looked at whether other kids who have CF have the same issues? It might just be impact of treatments & the hospital stays and it’ll shake itself out, either way, you’ve done the exact right thing in getting him seen (waiting list allowing)

@ILoveToPout @fesshole You must try not to let it. Nothing else you could’ve done and you were putting in an impossible situation. Need to forgive yourself for it.

Vet here, if you bring in your beloved pet for it's final time and you walk out of the room, we do judge you, the fear in that pets eyes when you leave it is worse than the actual euthanasia. I waive the fee for owners that stay. It's not often enough though.

@ILoveToPout @fesshole If someone chose to leave their dying father for their dying pet that would make them a massive POS!!! There is only 1 choice in that scenario.

@willowaz @fesshole Thank you, it’s been ten years and honestly, it eats me up. I would’ve been there if I could have.

@ILoveToPout @fesshole Please feel guilty. If the dog could talk they would have said to stay with your dad too, because that’s where they would have been too. Also, the staff at the vets know there are exceptions and don’t judge like this post suggest and we try to comfort the pets in the last moments

Mine and Baker’s week involves an ophthalmology appointment at The Royal London Hospital, a meeting at the nursery, a CF nurse visit, a CF physio visit and CF annual review. Add full time work, trying to keep my home clean, keep my dogs happy and trying to not have a breakdown.
