@MHTruthUltra German kids didn’t deserve to die in 1945. But their deaths were the fault of the Nazi government, which started a war of racist extermination that Germany was doomed to lose. Their deaths weren’t the fault of Allied nations defending their people by defeating the Nazis.

I would say it's pretty normal to be horrified by the images out of Gaza, and to feel like Israel could have done more to avoid casualties. But it's really not normal to make opposition to Israel a huge part of your identity, or to treat Israel like it's Nazi Germany.

This article is interesting and suggests there are three different positions being put by Australian Jews to the Royal Commission at this time. It's not the Frydenberg argument that Bondi had nothing to with Israel and that there is a unique form of endogenous antisemitism in Australia. Nor is it the lobby's view that the overwhelming majority of Australian Jews strongly support Israel's actions in Gaza. Instead it's that Australian Jews shouldn't be held responsible for Israel's behaviour - without specifying what that might actually be - specifically what exactly they are being blamed for. A fourth position, which I suspect the @jewishcouncilAU and others will put before the Commission is an explicit opposition to the genocide in Gaza (and other crimes in the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, etc,) and an objection to Netanyahu's claim to represent global Jewry through Israel's actions: the "not in our name" argument. theguardian.com/australia-news…

The whole "don't stab Jews because you can't know if they support Netanyahu's policies" is a terrible argument. You're actually allowed to have any opinions you want without getting stabbed. It used to be a whole thing we believed in the west. Don't cater to third worldism.

Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews. No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him. The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway. The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general. I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

I’m sure we have all now seen the footage of Metropolitan rozzers kicking a suspected terrorist in the head, repeatedly, when he was down. We can all play a part in putting an end to this sort of police brutality. Mainly by not going around stabbing people.
