Castigat ridendo mores (Old Latin proverb)
Are animal rights NGOs running out of cash…?
or
Simply searching for new fund-raising ideas!
I. Reports from the media are predicting serious financial difficulties for environmental NGOs. “Too much is too much” politicians from all quarters seem to realise:
1. From the United States of America. “Let’s do something”
rv-times.com/2024/11/17/env…
2. There is nothing the European Union enjoys more than following/copying the model and example of the USA,” Let’sdo the same thing”.
thegoodlobby.eu/the-end-of-ngo…
3. NGOs need to quickly replenish their coffers, especially considering that one friend, Greenpeace might end up in deep financial troubles resulting from a recent Court decision. This could have a negative impact on all saviours of “the species du jour”
bbc.com/news/articles/…
II. How can NGOs achieve this? Two organizations have quickly found the solution: by using marine mammals… again! After all, towards the end of the last century, marine mammals -whales and seals– were the major source of wealth for NGOs. In their mind, moronic humans won’t remember that they had provided massive amounts of money in trying to save whales and seals… and seals and whales… back and forth.
1. Having left the whales to others - since it killed the project of desalination of seawater in the Laguna San Ignacio, Mexico - IFAW decided to revive a “Saving the Whales” campaign of its own in France. This is counting on the French people being unaware of the human miseries and deaths created by IFAW ‘s translocation of elephants in southern Africa.

2. While being busy creating havoc with his Dolphin Save Tuna program and with many certification programs, the owner/founder of the World Sustainability Foundation is not aware of the countless “saving the seals campaigns” over several decades. So, he carries his own campaign to “save the seals”, these lovely critters displaying "playful spirit and expressive eyes,” (Probably read a book about Brigite Bardot on the iceberg).

III. NGOs need a new species! They are exceptionally clever at inventing new stories, dramas, pictures even at modifying and worshipping the title of “highly endangered” to “highly abundant” species. So, creating an endangered species does not represent any hardship for them.
Suggested Latin name of that new species: charismaticus extraordinarius fundraisinum. Not clear though, under which genus this new species will fall.
Ideas to help our friends replenish their financial loss are welcome!

@Bill10004 @Nikolaj_Bi Olympians are forced to: travel to venues in overheated/overcrowded Metros; spend their nights in overheated dormitories on rigid carton beds; swim in something that looks like water; and so on. All this on the name of the notorious/useless fight against Global Warming
English

@Bill10004 @Nikolaj_Bi Not anymore. Before being the City of the Games, Paris was the capital of gastronomy. Now they feed their Olympic guests with fake burgers and unwanted/tasteless vegan food.

Olympians are forced to: travel to venues in overheated/overcrowded metros; spent their nights in overheated dormitories on uncomfortable carton beds; swim in something that looks like water; and so on. All this to respect the ill-fated, useless Paris Agreement (2015) on Climate Change. Their dream stand a good chance to turn into a nightmare. Shameful games!

@Nikolaj_Bi After watching the Opening Ceremony, I Was expecting something grandiose. But, obviously, "the Bride was too beautiful", hiding so many shortfalls and major problems... Shamefull games...

People living around Kruger NP said, “The rhino has a ranger, a police officer; the rhino has land, a doctor that looks after it. And we don’t have these things. And maybe if the rhino goes extinct, we can finally get those things.” Hard to stop poaching without helping people.

More coverage of the tragic events unfolding after the translocation of 263 elephants into a largely unfenced national park. With a budget of U$ 127 million, one would think that @ifawglobal could use a bit of that to provide more than just a coffin.

@africa_resource @UKLabour Some politicians need to rely on absurdities to be (re)elected.
English

The possibility of a new UK gov doesn't promise any reprieve for southern Africa's conservation efforts. It seems that the @UKLabour think that banning the import of hunting trophies is a straightforward 'win' for animals. It is not, and never will be. voanews.com/a/southern-afr…
