BREAKING: Former Box Elder County Justice Court Judge Kevin Robert Christensen pleaded guilty to three third-degree felonies involving child sexual exploitation. Christensen, 65, entered the plea today in 2nd District Court in Ogden to: One count of Enticing a Minor Using the Internet Two counts of Dealing in Materials Harmful to a Minor The charges stem from online chats where investigators say he engaged in graphic sexual conversations with individuals he believed to be 13- and 16-year-old girls, sent explicit images and videos of himself, and solicited child sexual abuse material (CSAM). As part of the plea agreement, several other felony charges — including additional counts of enticing a minor and attempted aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor — were dismissed.Christensen resigned from the bench in March 2025 shortly after his arrest by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. He had served as a judge in Box Elder County for years. Sentencing is scheduled for June 8, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Ogden. This case was linked to a broader investigation that also involved a former Tremonton fire chief.

Do you know what will happen if Salazar's amnesty bill is passed and signed by President Trump? The Dignity Index rating given to Rep. Salazar for her recent comments defending the so-called Dignity Act is a 5 for “dignified" discourse. This strikes me as deeply misguided. What she is advocating is amnesty in all but name: legal work status and protections for millions who entered our country unlawfully. However one dresses it up with talk of "dignity" and enforcement timelines, the effect is the same, it undermines the rule of law, depresses wages for American workers, and makes genuine border security far more difficult. My concern runs deeper than this one bill. Tools like the Dignity Index risk becoming instruments to police speech and marginalize legitimate opposition. Label principled disagreement over immigration policy as "contempt," and you don't elevate discourse, you silence dissent and clear the path for policies many Americans rightly oppose. We don't need another Washington scoring system telling us what counts as acceptable conversation. We need honest debate, secure borders, real enforcement of our laws, and policies that put Utah families and American workers first. No amnesty.
