What draws more attention? An image or a statistic? I've been working with Anglo-Boer War concentration camp data for more than a decade, but when the picture on the left popped up on my Facebook feed, I was stunned. The picture is a colourised image (recreated by Tinus le Roux) of three Fourie girls in a concentration camp. On the right, is a list of first-names of all the Fouries that died in the camps, with half below the age of 5. (All three girls survived.) She was not "fully cleared"; had she been tried and found not guilty, that would have meant she was fully cleared. Instead the police and Crown Office decided there was not enough evidence to make a conviction likely. Rather different.

@scottroots Coming off rowing training as a student I entered a marathon believing that as every runner seemed slow at the end, the correct approach would be to go as hard as possible at the start so that by the time I inevitability slowed down, I was ahead of the curve. Not my best idea.

London marathon stat based on Men gender position. At 5k I was in P13513, I lost another 200 places by 10k and crossed in P13719. By halfway I was in P12536 At mile 26? P8907. I overtook over 4,500 people, 80% of them were in the last 15km. What does that teach us?

My criminal trial is due to take place at Stratford Magistrates Court, 9:30am on Tuesday 16 June 2026. I would be grateful for any support you are able to give to me during these trying times. It is a one day trial before a District Judge. As a law-abiding person with no criminal record, I admit that the prospect of a trial is a little daunting, however I maintain my innocence in the strongest possible terms. Good point. Actually… When a man who self-identifies as a woman is excluded from men’s sports category (or spaces) because of a life choice or look, THIS is discrimination based on “gender identity” and “gender expression.” Let men simply be excepting in their own sports and spaces. Women have always accepted and included the tomboys (non-binary, etc) in our own sports and spaces. (No doping) Hence 100% inclusion is achieved without discriminating against women and girls.
