all this to say, if you're seeing a therapist and your life isn't getting better, even though you're putting in effort and doing what they say, probably look for a new one, there's way more shitty ones than good ones.

I have had very literally over 15 therapists over the last 17 years, I have had 4 that were at all helpful and 1 was within a trauma specialized mental hospital. I'm working now with probably the best therapist I have had and within 3 sessions I'm seeing change.

It's almost unbelievable how hard it is to find an actually good therapist. So many enter the field who just... suck. They absolutely suck. I currently see someone twice weekly to help manage trauma as well as the uglier sides of autism, and it's straight up absurd how long it took me to find someone who is actually good at their job. Let alone someone who doesn't suggest starting 500 different meds every other week because they are incentivized to do so. The entire industry needs a hard reset. Especially as it is now becoming even more massive and corporatized.
