We created a new type of #nostr message, called 2999. It allows for private encrypted nostr chat rooms (i.e. group chat), which can only be decrypted by those invited to join the room and the identity of the parties participating are unknown to those outside the secure group chats. Each chat thread is fully decoupled from your npub and public identity, as each new chat thread creates a new nostr pubkey pair and does not broadcast a “to” or “from” like current nostr dm’s, when sending or receiving messages. It provides a secure, encrypted, invite only, private group workspace. There’s no network monitoring purview or insight for anyone watching your npub and it’s an entirely new way of using the #nostr protocol. Each message and chat thread is a dead drop within a dead drop. 😈

All new XChat is rolling out with encryption, vanishing messages and the ability to send any kind of file. Also, audio/video calling. This is built on Rust with (Bitcoin style) encryption, whole new architecture.

@LukeDashjr @jonahegutierrez The browser is just a vehicle for the package of P2P communication tools built in. It’s open source, run them yourself.

Never run a web browser on a computer of any importance. The most well-maintained browser, Chromium/Chrome, has a security issue on average once every week. Almost everything else, including apps that embed browsers like Signal Desktop and KMail, is a deriviative of Chromium and quite poorly maintained. Even when they backport security fixes, it's usually very late, and rarely complete. (I don't keep track of Firefox, but I would be surprised if it had fewer issues. If it has fewer fixes, I would just assume that means more of them are undiscovered/unfixed.)

Grandson: Do you remember when Bitcoin was under $1M? Grandfather: We don’t speak of the First Age of Men, for it was a cursed and depraved time.

The Constitution provides a clear remedy for this type of scenario. It’s time to reissue Letters of Marque and Reprisal. 🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️ @elonmusk @JoshuaSteinman

This is a famous photo of Telegram founder Pavel Durov giving Putin his middle finger. In 2011, Durov said that the Russian government had requested him to cancel the accounts of anti-government figures on his social media platform. Durov not only did not follow, but also publicly released this photo of "raising the middle finger to Putin" in the media, which received cheers from the West. After the 2014 Ukrainian coup, Durov refused to provide the Russian government with information on users involved in the Ukrainian colorful revolution. In the same year, he left Russia, claiming that Russia was "unable to keep up with the information age". Shortly after, he acquired French and UAE citizenship and stated that he had no plans to return to Russia. Today, Durov was arrested by France on charges of using the platform to "support terrorist activities" and "pedophilia" after refusing to provide user information to the United States and Israel, facing 20 years of imprisonment.
