Polymarket upgraded their matching engine yesterday. One idea was to limit failed fills because people on either side can fuck with the polygon block to invalidate their trades once the relayer settles on chain.
This is just happened to me, guess how many of these trades went through.

Institutional adoption of prediction markets is underway. Today Kalshi completed its first ever bespoke block trade. Jump Trading provided the liquidity. Transaction was brokered by Greenlight Commodities on behalf of an environmental hedge fund which wanted to bet on if a specific price will be realized at a California carbon allowance auction in May. Block trade was a 6-figure amount, which is relatively small, but this is just the beginning.

I'll go further: Brent futures give the option to cash settle against an index, introducing potential basis; WTI futures physically deliver without any optionality.
If people believe that CL is a paper market, take a position into expiry and lmk what your FCM says.

Oil futures are not a “paper” market! They settle into actual, physical oil delivered to Cushing. The fact that you can trade them frictionlessly from a computer screen and exit your position early does not make it non-physical in the way that e.g. ES futures cash settle.
