As well, everyone brags how Canada supplies aluminum to the US....we process it and where do you think 40% of the bauxite & alumina come from? Plus 75% of our refined petroleum is from the US.

@johnfhuizing There is no trade deficit in manufactured goods, Canada buys more from USA than USA buys from Canada. So USA enjoys a trade surplus over Canada. The deficit is a result of the oil and gas imported by USA from Canada ( at discounted prices). So Trump once again has it all wrong.

The hard fact is that Trump does not want a trade deficit of $200 billion with Canada. Likewise, Alberta no longer wants to continue equalization payments to keep Canada afloat. Canada could have been a successful nation, but chose socialism and climate change instead.

Tariffs are taxes. Full stop. When the US puts a tariff on Canadian goods, the first person paying is the American importer, not the Canadian exporter.

The first time the United States has ever helped another country enrich uranium on foreign soil. The Saudis refused the inspection protocol 140 other countries accept. Too intrusive, they said. Trump agreed. He signed a national security waiver to get around the rule. The Saudis paid Kushner $100 million. They put $2 billion into his firm. They put another $6 billion into LIV Golf, which pays Trump properties to host its tournaments. They signed ten billion dollars in Trump-branded real estate deals in Jeddah and Riyadh.
