I’m sympathetic with this view point but only to a degree. A lot of people live in contradiction to their desires and it’s worth exploring the reasons. For example many women I mentor want families and a partner but are so caught up in the modern way of hyper independence, skepticism and anti-men rhetoric. Or they work jobs that eat away at their souls because they can’t stomach having to tell someone they’re “just a housewife.” Yes they are what they do but getting them to admit their secret desire and working on a plan to achieve it is not encouraging navel gazing and narcissism.

I wrote about this exact matter and lost subscribers for it 👏🏽. Some women feel they should be taken “just as they are” and expend very little effort into improving their looks to increase their options in a very tough dating market. When dating, being the chooser is powerful but to be the chooser you have to have OPTIONS to choose from. It’s not male-centric, self-betrayal or internalized misogyny to want a partner. Most women underrate how much men care about looks. And when they do try to get more attractive they waste time and effort on tanning, contouring their face, getting their nails done. Instead, almost everyone could be considered attractive if they lost weight, grew their hair long, and cleared up their skin. All these things are within your control. There's other basic advice that should be obvious. Wear makeup everyday and go for a youthful, dewy look. Remove your body hair. Ditch your glasses. For the extreme looksmaxxers, focus on your body. Your face is probably fine and hard to change. Get a boob job, precisely control your weight, and do hourglass-enhancing exercises. We have this program where we hire women who have taken a career break, offer them decent pay and good projects so they can learn..most leave within a year for better pkgs, so technically its a loss for the company..but when someone raised this issue, the european woman leading this initiative just said - “thats the whole point, they deserve to do better”..

@TheOdin_II I’d love to see us all think very differently about fertility. I say use the money to take a sabbatical, lower your cortisol, be available to meet men and date with ease. And have a baby. Egg freezing rates aren’t great especially at that age.

@lyrverse It’s all they know. Like the aunties who’ve only known bad marriages trying to pressure you into early marriage with just about anybody. And after they’ve seen pepper in life and relationships they still try to raise naive, inexperienced young women.

Something I will never understand is why older women want younger women to follow in their footstep if they know their life has been miserable. I understand misery loves company but this is just an extreme.
