My name is Abdul Wahab. I am pleading with my Football Twitter (FT) family and everyone on this app to please RT. I am on the verge of losing a life-changing opportunity simply because of where I come from, and I have worked too hard to bottle it now. I grew up in extreme poverty in a small village called Kwabenantene in the Ahafo Region. I am the very first person in my family and my entire village to ever get a university education. My path was never easy. To survive undergrad, I literally had to drop out of classes mid-semester, pack my bags, and go back home to do heavy construction work just to raise enough money to survive the next term. I was laying bricks to pay for my textbooks. Despite having zero financial safety net, I poured my blood and sweat into my studies and graduated with First-Class Honours in Economics, ranking in the top 1% of my entire cohort of 435 students. But I didn’t just want to succeed alone; I went back to my village, gathered the youth, and started teaching and mentoring them. Because of that work, two students from my locality have now successfully made it into university too. I want to lift my people up. All this hard work finally paid off: I just received admission into the highly prestigious, integrated Masters/Ph.D. Economics program at Goethe University Frankfurt (GSEFM) in Germany! My tuition is officially 100% waived. However, I am facing a massive roadblock. Because the program is so competitive, I wasn't put directly into the fully-funded Ph.D. cohort right away. Instead, I was admitted to the MSQ track for Year 1. I will take the exact same rigorous classes alongside the Ph.D. students, and if I pass my Year 1 qualifying exams, I transition directly into the fully-funded Ph.D. I know I will pass those exams. The academics don't scare me. The finances do. My only problem right now is getting funding to cover my Year 1 living expenses in Frankfurt. If I can just survive these first 12 months, the Ph.D. funding takes over and my future is secured. To my FT family: you guys know my grind and my loyalty. If I get this lifeline, I promise I will proudly represent FT in every academic hall, conference, and research room I ever step into. I just need a chance to be in the room. I cannot let a lack of living expenses kill a dream I built with my bare hands. If you know of any scholarships, foundations, philanthropists, or anyone who can sponsor a village boy for just one year, PLEASE tag them or reach out. Please RT this until it reaches the right timeline. Let’s make this happen! 🌍📚🙏🏾

You listed 10 countries. Let’s look at every single one honestly. Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman These are petrostates. They didn’t “develop” through superior governance or free markets. They sit on the largest hydrocarbon reserves on earth and had small populations to distribute that wealth across. Qatar has a population of 300,000 citizens. Nigeria has 220 million people and has earned over $1 trillion in oil revenue since 1960, most of which was stolen by the same elite class that has ruled continuously since independence. The comparison isn’t development. It’s arithmetic. Also worth noting, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states were explicitly protected by US military presence and petrodollar agreements. The US didn’t just leave them alone. It built military bases, signed security guarantees, and structured global oil trade around their stability. Nigeria got SAPs. The Gulf got aircraft carriers. South Korea This one is actually the most interesting, because it proves the original point rather than defeating it. South Korea developed under a US security umbrella, billions in US Marshall Plan-style aid, preferential access to US markets during the Cold War, and explicit American interest in making it a showcase capitalist success story against North Korea. The US didn’t leave South Korea alone. It invested massively in it — strategically. Nigeria was never given that treatment because Nigeria was never a Cold War showcase. Nigeria was an oil supplier. Singapore Lee Kuan Yew built Singapore through authoritarian governance, zero tolerance for corruption, strategic geography as a trading port, and British institutional inheritance. It also has a population of 5 million people in a city-state. It has no agricultural land, no oil, no mineral wealth. It succeeded entirely on human capital and institutional discipline. Singapore actually supports the argument about governance, but notice what Lee Kuan Yew himself said. He explicitly rejected IMF structural adjustment prescriptions for Asian economies. He called them destabilizing. The Asian development model succeeded partly by ignoring Washington consensus advice. Malaysia Mahathir Mohammad, Malaysia’s longest serving PM, openly defied the IMF during the 1997 Asian financial crisis. When the IMF demanded austerity and currency liberalization, he imposed capital controls instead. Every Western economist said he would destroy Malaysia. Malaysia recovered faster than every country that followed IMF advice. Again, this supports the structural argument, not yours. Ireland Ireland’s development came directly from EU membership, EU structural funds worth billions in transfers, access to the European single market, and using low corporate tax rates to attract US multinational headquarters. Ireland didn’t develop in isolation. It was subsidized by a continental economic union and used American corporate tax arbitrage to build its GDP. Also Ireland had centuries of colonial underdevelopment under Britain, and it took them decades after independence to find their footing. Sound familiar? Azerbaijan Caspian oil. Post-Soviet transition with significant Western investment interest specifically because of pipeline politics and the BTC pipeline was a major US geopolitical project to route oil away from Russia. Azerbaijan was strategically useful. It got investment. None of this means Nigeria’s failures are entirely external. They are not. Both things are true simultaneously. But your list of successful countries doesn’t disprove external structural influence. It actually reveals it more clearly simply because every single country on that list either had direct Western strategic investment, small populations sitting on enormous resource wealth, or explicitly rejected Western economic prescriptions to develop on their own terms. Not one of them developed the way the IMF told Nigeria to develop.

@xplore_Tade @nnamdiobiii Tell us where was CIA when Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi, Omar, South Korea, Singapore, Ireland, Malaysia, and Azerbaijan developed from 3rd world to 1st world countries or CIA is limited to Nigeria and Nepal alone? Keep blaming other for your misfortune

I didn’t win MEXT because I was the smartest applicant. I won because I stopped guessing. I spent years reading what actual MEXT scholars were doing—how they chose topics, wrote plans, and handled interviews. That insight is what most applicants never get. So they get rejected. But that won’t be you because now you can work 1-on-1 with MEXT grantees in Japan for step-by-step application guidance for the 2026/2027 cycle If you’re applying, sign up and reduce your odds of rejection by more than 50%. I applied for this scholarship last year though I didn't qualify but I will give you tips you need to be aware of. 1. If you graduated before 2024, that is 2023, 2022, 2021, you are not eligible.

10 USEFUL TIPS IN DRAFTING YOUR ACADEMIC CV FOR AN ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIP 📌Here are 10 tips to help you craft a solid academic CV that reflects your strengths, experiences, and academic potential. ✍️👇 1️⃣ Start with the right format 📄 Use the Europass template for Erasmus Application❗️ While the Europass CV website is recommended for drafting the Europass CV for Erasmus scholarship, many applicants find this website really challenging to navigate. If that’s you, here’s an Europass Word document template you can still utilize in drafting your CV: 🔗 You can download the word format of the Europass CV template here: eeas.europa.eu/sites/default/… 💡 Feel free to customize or delete any section that doesn’t apply to you. 2️⃣ Tailor your CV to your program of interest Carefully read your desired program website and identify key themes, focus areas, and skills the program emphasizes and make sure your CV reflects them. ✨Include relevant coursework, projects, or professional experiences that align with the program’s theme or focus area. 3️⃣ Ensure alignment with your SOP Every professional experience highlighted in your SOP should also appear in your CV; same dates, same activities. These two documents must speak the same language. Consistency shows credibility. 4️⃣ Show academic strength Clearly list your degrees, GPAs (if strong), thesis or final project topics, academic awards, and any relevant distinctions. 🌏Erasmus is academically competitive, so don’t be modest here.⚡️ 💡If your GPA is not particularly strong, avoid mentioning it. Focus on other strong points📌 5️⃣ Include research, academic support roles, and publications (if any) ✅ Have you written a thesis, presented at a conference, or co-authored a paper? Mention it even if it’s not directly related to your course of interest. However, briefly highlight the skills you gained like literature review, data analysis, or scientific writing. ✅ Also, if you’ve worked with a professor as a student assistant or research assistant, such as helped grade papers, or even tutored fellow students, these counts as academic experiences too. Highlight them It shows subject mastery and involvement in the academic environment which Erasmus values. 📌 Quantify these experiences: Here are some examples: - Conducted a literature review of 30+ articles on adolescent reproductive health - Presented research findings to a 50-person audience during undergraduate seminar week - Assisted a Chemistry professor in grading and reviewing over 100 exam scripts - Tutored 10+ classmates weekly in biostatistics, contributing to improved overall class performance 6️⃣ Keep it clear and readable Use clean formatting: headings, bullet points and consistent fonts. Avoid long paragraphs❗️. The selection committee should understand your story at a glance. 7️⃣ Don’t underestimate your experiences. You have more experience than you think! ✅ Be it volunteering in church, your community, NGOs, or during your undergraduate studies? Include them especially if they demonstrate leadership, initiative, or a global outlook. 💡 Tip: Relate these experiences and skills you acquired to your desired course of interest. 8️⃣ Quantify all your impacts❗️ Use numbers and results to show the scale of what you’ve done. This makes your experiences more tangible and credible. Examples: - Organized 5 community health workshops reaching over 300 teenagers, leading to a 40% increase in menstrual hygiene awareness (pre/post survey). - Trained 15 peer mentors in basic counseling techniques during a 2-day workshop. - Represented Nigeria in a 2-week youth leadership exchange in Turkey with 40 participants from 10 countries. 9️⃣ Keep your CV short and relevant Two pages max❗️. Your goal isn’t to mention everything you’ve done, just the most relevant, and impactful experiences that support your application for your desired course of interest. 🔟 Proofread like your future depends on it

I have had an experiential knowledge of God through prayers I remember my scholarship journey so clearly. At first, I was fixated on one particular course. I was convinced it was the right fit for me, so in 2023, that was the only program I applied for. Unfortunately, I was rejected. In 2024, I tried again. This time, I was placed on the reserve list. That moment forced me to pause and reflect. I knew if I don’t get in that year, I’d have to wait for the next year and I didn’t want that. Also, I wanted a course that truly aligned with my background, my skills, and my interests. So I started asking myself a difficult question, what other course is still open in the Erasmus catalogue and could genuinely fit my interest? I spent a lot of time praying and seeking direction. Then something interesting happened. While scrolling through LinkedIn, I came across a course with a name that immediately caught my attention. It sounded unusual, almost confusing, like many Erasmus programs with their unique abbreviations. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then I saw the same course appear again in a Telegram scholarship group. Later, it showed up yet again on WhatsApp in another scholarship group I was part of. At that point, I couldn’t ignore it. It felt like I was being pointed in a specific direction. So I decided to look into it properly. When I researched the program, I realized it actually aligned perfectly with my background and interests. That was the confirmation I needed. I got to work immediately. I drafted my statement of purpose within about a week and submitted my application. Step by step, things began to fall into place, I was invited for an interview, and eventually, I received my scholarship award letter. I got accepted at my first application to that course! Looking back, my entire journey to graduate school feels guided. I remember even writing a congratulatory note to myself in advance, praying and praising over it, and visualizing my life in a new country. Seeing it all come to pass still feels surreal. For me, this experience was deeply personal. It strengthened my faith and reminded me that prayer truly works. I hope this inspires someone ✨
