@DebaucherousCat Ya like a deck that looks to execute one line of play to put up an effectively unbeatable board or FTK. Although I think I agree that in principle using things like agro/midrange/control/combo for stuff in yugioh doesn’t really feel quite right.

@adamwasmo @BrianDeMars1 I appreciate that the way this is enforced isn’t great butI’m pretty sure it’s boat players responsibility to maintain the game state. Call the trigger at upkeep and maintain the integrity of it and this whole scenario just doesn’t come up. Angling for a bookkeeping win is cringe

@BrianDeMars1 Basically the best way to deal with the current pact ruling if your opponent misses the trigger is to wait for them to tap out for a spell, then call a judge to put the trigger on the stack Calling it as a spectator too soon ruins this The whole thing just sucks though

RCQ, a player forgot to pay for Pact, drew a card, played a land, spectator paused game, called a judge and ruling was pact trigger goes on stack in middle of main phase and can pay it. 👏You👏lose👏the👏game👏

@EmreYGO I’ve only been playing for about a year but it truly feels that the side deck in yugioh is really only used for evil rather than interesting matchup considerations.

What if we removed side decks from the game, but still played best of three? - Fewer toxic cards (giga go first/second cards or hard counters) - Time saved, since there’s no siding - Deckbuilding becomes more skillful, in my opinion ….and probably way more good things!

MTG people who play EDH, how do you go about building a deck? As someone new to the game, idk enough cards to just build a deck from scratch. EDHRec is cool and all but it gives card suggestions rather than decklists and nowhere online can I find good decklists to start with :(

product, competition, and a shrinking playerbase outside of the core hardcore audience are serious issues in the current game. cimos video was honestly a lot more unbiased than I would’ve expected from someone we know has not enjoyed the game in 6 years.
