@pitdesi Swinford Toll Bridge - I've been using this for >50 years and it's always cost peanuts, recall 0.02p. It's a main route in& out of Oxford with estimated 10,000 cars a day so those guys are paid okay and someone has £ to spare

I drove over a bridge near Oxford and paid a man the 5p (6.4¢) toll. Min wage in the UK is £11.44; to break even they’d need 458 cars/hour to cross (2 tollmen). The bridge is a tax haven- privately owned, George III decree’d it tax free indefinitely in 1769.
