At the foundation laying ceremony of the JSW Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Facility at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), Maheshwaram., our focus was on strengthening Telangana’s role as a Defence Strategic Hub. The State is shaping a clear roadmap centred on unmanned systems, drone technologies and advanced aerospace capabilities, building on Hyderabad’s growing ecosystem and the presence of leading global defence firms. The ₹850crore JSW Shield AI project, capable of producing 300 VBAT drones a year, represents a significant push toward self-reliance in next-gen defence technologies. Inaugurating the “AI-led Digital Transformation – Champions & Catalysts Program” at Dr. MCR HRD Institute today reiterates our government’s commitment to being proactive, transparent and future-focused. We are committed to deliver AI-powered citizen services to one crore people by 2027 so that services reach citizens even before they ask. We aim to build Telangana into a $5 billion AI economy and create thousands of new jobs. To achieve this, we are developing initiatives such as the AI City, AI University and Telangana AI Innovation Hub. We are also proud that Telangana is the first state to launch the AI-driven Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX), which is now a national model. To take this vision forward, we have selected 250 officials from 20 departments for specialised AI training.
