Short advice thread for budding economists applying now for predocs TLDR: Being a predoc is a major human capital investment that you and your PI will make together. Look for someone who will invest in you rather than simply someone who is a big name. cc @econ_ra

By the end of math camp you should know: 1. the basics of constrained optimization, 2. where to look up math concepts you aren’t familiar with, and most importantly, 3. who you’ll make eye contact with when someone says something unhinged in class
