Stats Canada just released "Firearms and violent crime in Canada, 2024" Here's a few headlines from the report. * In 2024, the proportion of violent crimes involving a firearm was higher than 10 years earlier. Translation: Liberal policies have made things worse * The decline in the rate of firearm-related violent crime is largely driven by urban areas in western Canada. Translation: The prairies are tackling crime * Nearly half of firearm-related violent crimes involve a handgun. Translation: Banning rifles is not the solution * Almost 3 in 10 violent crimes attributable to gangs or organized crime involve a firearm Translation: No explanation necessary * Persons accused of violent crimes are more likely to have a recent history of violence. Translation: Releasing bad people on bail is not a good idea The data is all there, and the solutions to the problems can be found in the data, but the Liberals refuse to do so. @MarkJCarney @Polysesouvient and @Safety_Canada The reason that participation in the ASFCP has been abysmal is that Canada's 2,500,000 licensed firearm owners want to send a clear message: we expect and demand to be treated properly and fairly by government, not as false adversaries for votes. We don't commit crimes with our firearms. We don't deserve our firearms to be banned, forced to sit useless in our safes for 6+ years, and then offered stupidly low compensation in an unfair program. The days of treating us like shit end now. We purchased our firearms (and paid taxes on them) in good faith, and fully expect to retain our legal property. It's not about non-compliance or whatever crap the anti-gun crew will label us with. It's about standing up to a government who is abusing legal firearm owners for political gain in the false name of public safety. A wise friend once told me: "You will be treated the way you allow yourself to be treated". You now have a clear message about what Canada's legal firearm owner community will tolerate. It's your move.

With the declaration period now closed, thank you to all law-abiding firearms owners who declared their prohibited firearms for compensation. With over 67,000 firearms declared in the individual phase, we are working to keep communities safe. Read more: bit.ly/417BIJC
