I look at Garland as a 40-50 point guy, I think he is and will be a better hockey player the next 3 seasons than: Jonathan Drouin, Anthony Duclair, Ondřej Palát... three guys in the top-six right now. I don't care about his stats this year, I understand the context.

#isles The Soucy move is nothing to be upset about. It's a basically free upgrade over Boqvist. That's it. And it's for this season while the Islanders are in a playoff spot. So long as you aren't giving a legitimate asset up in acquiring it, presuming this is not going to have any real compensation going the other way, it's not something to be frustrated about. He's likely not on the roster next season. And neither will be the 4th pick or futures, whatever those end up being, used to acquire him. The issue here is that it more or less signals Darche is not going to add a legitimate upgrade to the squad this year. That's worth discussing. Because if you cared about this year's results you're not getting Soucy.
