@ForeignPolicy @azrielb Are you joking? Turkey has been threatening Israel for decades and hosting Hamas. Israel doesn’t have anything against Turkey, they used to be huge trading partners until Erdogan cut off trade.

@HaretinaK His success in politics is certainly debatable. But what we, as Turks, really notice is that Greeks wake up almost every day to news related to Turkey. For Turks, however, the headlines are more about how expensive Turkey has become and how the Greek islands are now much cheaper.

Davutoğlu, the man who literally wrote “Strategic Depth,” the bible of neo-Ottoman policy, now says Greece is “at the bottom of the list” as an adversary. I could write pages on reverse psychology, on Byzantine influence, on the whole diplomatic theatre of it. But my grandfather would’ve handled it in three words: “άσε ρε πονηρέ.” “You’re not a threat” is the oldest move in the book — flatter the neighbor to lower his guard, isolate the issue you actually want, and reframe the aggressor as the calm one. Greece isn’t at the bottom of any Turkish list. It’s the whole reason the list exists. Davutoğlu is not a random politician. He is the theorist of modern Turkish expansionism.

This is complete nonsense. This very Turkish Foreign Minister declared without any provocation that Israel is a “burden on humanity” and that “Israel is the world’s problem.” Other Turkish officials including the President Erdogan have prayed for the destruction of Israel and the conquest of Jerusalem. Nothing that PM Netanyahu has done or said justifies such extremely hostile statements by Turkish statesmen.
Raylan Givens@JewishWarrior13

🚨 Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: There is no reason for a direct confrontation between Turkey and Israel. There are still many good people in Israel with common sense and strategic thinking. Not everyone there is like Netanyahu and his team. Nevertheless, as the election date approaches, Netanyahu and some of the people around him need an enemy. After the war against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, they now need a new enemy to gain sympathy, and they are trying to do this through Turkey.

Keep in mind, nobody forced Turkey to buy Russian S-400 missile defense systems. The Turks CHOSE to buy Russian weapons even though they had the option to purchase the American Patriot missiles. Turkey shifted East on its own. So why are we going out of our way to reward Turkey with F-35 jets when it chose Russia over America?

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: There is no reason to have an open conflict between Turkey and Israel. There are still very sane and good people with wisdom and a strategic mind in Israel. Not all of them are like Netanyahu and his people. But Netanyahu and some people, as they get closer to the elections, need an enemy. After they wage war on Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, they need another enemy to get somebody to pity them. They are trying to do that with Turkey.

@theodossism @NikosMichailid4 @Mish_K_ Are you insane? It was a NATO gathering. What could be more normal than playing a national military march? It seems that it is the Greeks who have an inferiority complex because you find it hard to accept that you are not the center of the world for the past 2,000 years.

@IsraelWarRoom No country outside of the United States has done more to enhance the F-35 than Israel. Its fucking heartbreaking that a potential sale to Turkey could force Israel into the unwanted role of world leader in defending against hostile F-35s.

@c14english Greece helped the US while Turkey blocked their airspace and incirlik air base
Harry Theocharous@TheocharousH

🚨TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA & ALL TURKEY REGIME SUPPORTERS IN THE EU🚨 You’ve been complaining that NATO members “let America down” and didn’t help against Iran but the only @NATO country that gave the US real operational support and opened its bases was GREECE, specifically the critical one in Crete. Where was Turkey, NATO’s second-largest military “power” and “staunch ally” of the US? They sat it out and even worse, prohibited US aircraft to use Incirlik base and in most cases, their airspace. Yet just days ago your administration notified Congress of a $700mln deal for jet engines to power Turkey’s KAAN fighter jet and you’re even floating F35 access for the Erdogan.l regime. What exactly are you getting into Mr President? Rewarding the “ally” that wouldn’t show up when it counted, while the one reliable partner that actually stood with America gets overlooked? Greece proved its value Mr President and now you want to give Turkey weapons they will use against your true ally? Mr President @realDonaldTrump and other EU heads, supporters of the Turkish regime, it’s time to wake up and stop handing advanced American and European military technology to those who hedge or side against us when the stakes are real. Turkey will use these advanced weapons against all of us, it’s a matter of time before they do.

I’m trying to figure out if you actually believe your own flawed conclusions, or if you’re just being malicious for attention. You’re intelligent and you know Israeli politics- so you know damn well that the last thing Israel needs is more open fronts. The war with Iran is bound to resume, and it’s already draining our defense resources and diplomatic capital. Same with Lebanon. Israel is a tiny country; we don’t have the manpower to spare. We only fight for survival. If Turkey weren't threatening us with genocidal intentions, nobody here would look twice in their direction. And yeah, I know your excuse: you’ll claim all Israelis are brainwashed. But you read Hebrew. You know exactly what I write about Netanyahu. So, care to explain your twisted logic?

I need people to understand what is happening here. Israel is now hyper focused on attacking Turkey in order to: 1) Create a new enemy to replace Iran. 2) Dominate Syria and Lebanon in pursuit of greater Israel. 3) Destroy NATO and undermine U.S. alliances with other countries so the US is dependent on Israel. There is no real threat from Turkey. It’s all an attempt to create the next crisis. The next war. More misery.

Erdoğan’s Turkey welcomes the NATO summit tomorrow while arresting opposition leaders, silencing journalists, banning protests, and censoring independent media. When a government fears its own people, it tells you everything you need to know about that regime. theguardian.com/world/2026/jul…

Turkey is describing Israel as "burden that humanity can no longer bear" while boasting of new ballistic missiles, trying to buy F-35 jets from the United States, and deepening military ties with nuclear power Pakistan. How do you think it looks from Israel's perspective?
