QUICK THOUGHT: Will $RLUSD overtake $USDC?
Here's why we think it may be possible:
1️⃣ CLARITY Act’s latest draft bans passive yield on stablecoins, closing the loophole that let Coinbase offer 4% on $USDC balances while banks paid 0.01%
2️⃣ Circle’s stock fell over 20% on March 24 after the draft leaked, while $RLUSD’s growth model—built entirely on payments, settlement, and collateral—remains unaffected by the yield ban
2️⃣ $RLUSD reached $1.25 billion in market cap within 15 months without offering yield, and Ripple’s OCC bank charter gives it a regulatory edge that Circle is still pursuing

Here’s the verified backstory for investors: Early days (2015-2017): • SC: Strategic investor in Ripple (2016, board observer) after 2015 DLT PoC for trade finance. SC Ventures also invested in Metaco (exited to Ripple in 2023). • HSBC: Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen joined HSBC Tech Advisory Board (2017). Ex-HSBC payments head Marcus Treacher joined Ripple (2016). 2023 pivot: Ripple acquires Metaco ($250M). • HSBC uses Metaco Harmonize for institutional tokenized securities custody (announced 2023, complements Orion). • SC-backed Zodia Custody integrates with Metaco network for bank-grade crypto storage & sub-custody (Dec 2023). Two major banks with deep historical Ripple links now share the same institutional custody/tokenization stack. Quiet infrastructure play for tokenized assets + stablecoins.

It’s going unnoticed because so much other news is happening, but the war drums are beating again in D.C. The warmongers worry this is their last chance to get the white whale they’ve been chasing for thirty years, an all-out regime change war against Iran.
A new Middle East war would be a catastrophic mistake. Our military stockpiles are depleted from three years of backing Ukraine. Our effort to reshore manufacturing has only just begun and will take years to bear fruit. War would worsen our already immense deficit and national debt. Iran is larger than Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan combined. A war would not be easy and could easily become a calamity.
Thanks to President Trump’s restraint during his first term, America has a golden opportunity to pull away from Middle East quagmires for good. We shouldn’t throw that opportunity away so that sone D.C. has-beens can feel tough by sending young Americans to die yet again.
