I disagree with you on all of the above. I know what happened behind the scenes and I've been in hundreds of similar situations. In working relations between official spokespersons and media there are things that are done and there are things that aren't. He crossed that line in a very clear way. That's why I tweeted.

Yes, I saw Nadav's response, but I was wondering what was said to Trey exactly. Ever since October 7, I’ve found him to be one of the few journalists reporting on the war in a highly professional and balanced manner, which is why I was a bit surprised to see you accusing him of reporting erroneous information “knowing full well she made a reckless mistake”. Unless the IDF issued an official clarification about the nature of that mistake, I think this accusation is rather unfair.

I’m not surprised to see @TreyYingst use an erroneous response by a junior enlisted in the @IDF for clickbait, knowing fully well she made a reckless mistake. I am however surprised that after so many transgressions and very questionable reporting, including from fresh strategic impact sites, this level of behavior is still acceptable at @FoxNews.

Ali Shaib was officially recruited as a member of Hezbollah’s military wing in 2020, but in practice had been cooperating with the terrorist organization since 2013. His role in the intelligence unit was to film intelligence information and transfer it to the Radwan Force, all under the guise of a journalist. Shaib’s activities in exposing the locations of IDF troops to Hezbollah posed a tangible threat to the lives of IDF troops in southern Lebanon.
