@mikebutcher The major issue we found is banking a fintech/lending business is difficult and not many banks want to do it. We spoke to Barclays, metro, all of the neo-banks… SVB we’re the only ones who could spin up accounts in a reasonable timeframe.

What tech startup-oriented bank is an alternative to SVB UK for UK/European startups, now that has shut down?

@kprescott One area that is not mentioned… a lot of SPV accounts for lending via fintechs are in SVB. Those funds will 100% be larger than the insured £85k. We’re talking tens of millions per business.

While Bank of England says “SVBUK has a limited presence in the UK and no critical functions supporting the financial system.” Yes but, it plays a MASSIVE role in the tech start up ecosystem here. Someone told us yesterday (unsubstantiated) it catered to 60% of VC backed bizzes

@JCtheOriginal Is it showing up as "related tweets" when you go into the thread? And they're completely unrelated e.g. the daily mail stuff you mentioned. If so then yes mine is doing the same and it's very annoying!
