"Overall, Kromkowski’s satire is incisive, leaning on irony and cultural nods to critique political figures and policies, delivered with a sharp edge that invites reflection rather than overt moralizing."

@mattyglesias People are embarrassed that they make too little or make too much. Histograms would help us.

@demansou @mnolangray @CohenSite You want to bring back the living over business. But you really don't want to work in that business or have you children work in that business. I had great aunt and uncle who lived above the bar they ran in Hamtramck. They justifiable imagined something better for their children

On the contrary, many North American cities are building missing middle housing at scale—whole neighborhoods of e.g. Edmonton/Houston/Nashville are turning into something between conventional single-family homes and midrise apartments; they're just typologies you all don't like!

Alicia, Courtyard Urbanist@UrbanCourtyard

We only do single family (A) and corridor buildings (B) at scale. We don't do middle housing at scale (C), and that's the problem. Because middle housing at scale is how you create very high density that is also very livable and works for people across the life cycle.

@evanjconrad This is ridiculous assertion unless you are planning to couple this with a massive recession/depression.

@coolsuzieq @BillKristol Basically all they can do is ask: are you citizen and where were you born. Any detainment must be brief. Officers can request (but generally not demand from citizens) identification. Other than basic inquiry you can stay silent.

@aaron_lubeck @mattyglesias And lost us House. Clinton and DLC was in no small part a leading cause of the destruction of my Party. Obama tried to get the coalition back together but the Clintonistas stepped in to bring the destruction back.

@mattyglesias Moderation worked in 1992, and ended a 24 year run of the party being lost in the wilderness. A generation out of date? Sure. No longer valid? Not so sure.

Step 1: mandate every city go back to the zoning and land use rules they had in place in 1930.

@mattyglesias @aoxamaxoa You don't live in Michigan. Sanders, Schumer, and you and every outside of Michigan should stay out of it. This is the proper take. Localism is the path forward.

The asymmetry in the current factional battle is that Bernie & AOC are actually in Wisconsin supporting the candidate they prefer. Tons of Dem electeds — almost certainly most of them — prefer Stevens, but nobody wants to put in the time or effort to do anything about it.
