@kjgillenwater @aaron_renn Because when you’re doing open heart surgery you can’t use ChatGPT. If you’re doing engineering and you don’t have access to those tools (yes that still happens) you need to actually know what you’re doing. Skills have to actually still exist. Not in every field, but for some.

@PatrickRuffini Big problem with phones is the attention span issues. Shorter content, more addicting, specifically created to be as addicting as possible actually.
Also comes down to graphics, content on phones (and tv nowadays) is high stimulation.

No, it is called an unjust electoral system. There are only half a dozen swing states out of 50 states. The other states don't matter because they are given.

We know most anti-abortion supporters don't believe abortion is murder because most of them do not support punishing women who have abortions as murderers. No state that bans abortion treats women who have abortions as murderers (or, in fact, as criminals at all). And every time a bill to do so is offered, it dies without ever even coming to a vote. That would not happen if most opponents of abortion genuinely believe it is the moral equivalent of infanticide.

They were so tough on crime in the Giuliani era that I legitimately got arrested for drinking a beer in a park, had to come to court and plead guilty to the lesser offense of drinking beer on the sidewalk.

I took one literature class in college, expecting to be treating to a lot of heavily ideological critical theory, but instead the professor just talked a lot about some excellent Russian novels.
