Hey everybody, big news. My next children's book is out! This one is Max and The Search for Munky Mondo. It's an epic adventure of imagination that all begins when Max is outside feeling bored, and his dad tells him to go find the golden statue of Munky Mondo. "What's that?" Max asked. "You're a kid. Use your imagination!" Which is what Max, joined by his sister Libby, does. I love this book, and I'd love for you to check it out. Here are 3 reasons why you might enjoy it: 1) If you've read Max and The No Good, Rotten, Worst Birthday Party of All Time, this book is the next in the series. Follow young Max's adventures in this book and the many more to come. 2) It's fun. A children's book has to be fun above all. This one is filled with action, adventure and the kind of wild stuff that 2 kids playing outside would imagine—crazy forest creatures, a golden talking cloud, superhero potion, lava boots, a twist ending, and more! 3) It has a message vital for kids today. I'm concerned that kids are forgetting how to play. I love phones, tablets and TV as much as anyone else, but when kids turn to those things every time they're bored, they miss out on an essential element of childhood—creative play. My hope is that this book will help with that problem. It's up on Amazon, and if you're a Prime member you'll get FREE shipping. Check it out and let me know what you think! amazon.com/dp/B0DD6Y92DT

@JFowlerBooks Agreed. Even celebrity culture was fine when you only saw them once a year on late night TV promoting their movie.

Everyone is nostalgic for the 90s and early 2000s because in the last 15 years we haven't seen many creations that will stand the test of time. This is partly because the general quality is much lower but also with the amount of content that's getting pumped out means we don't hit pause to appreciate anything.

I was obsessed with using AI as a thinking partner when it came out. Have found myself gravitating back toward simple pen and paper. Realised most of my AI use was fomo (what if I miss something!). But the benefit was not worth the cost.

Paid a coach $1,500 yesterday to help us grow our ghostwriting biz. In just 10 minutes he had me feeling like an amateur. I expected to feel defeated. But it felt like relief. We were making mistakes we wouldn't notice for months. He saved us that time. Pivoted in two days. Onto getting new customers again. Our business was technically broken and still on track to earn six figures. You don't have to be an expert to do this stuff.

@torreydawley @waronweakness I'm curious to see the unintended results of fully AI workers. AI goes off the rails in weird ways, and they don't care at all if they trash a company and get busted. It's all the same to them. Trusting an AI is like eating a bag of cookies, but one is filled with poison.

What everybody conveniently ignores: Unlike the capabilities and salaries of human employees, AI employee capabilities and costs will be entirely dictated by a handful of sociopaths who control your access to said employees. They can raise the costs 3x overnight. They can nerf the capabilities with a simple update. They can change entire models and workflows instantly. How many business leaders do you think are losing sleep over that? Or, are they all too busy lapping up the drool over the short-term benefits? Remember: "First one's free" was always the fastest to make someone dependent on you.

Blank Street is the coffee shop you'd make if you asked ChatGPT to create a brand for you. The Helvetica font, matte green color, and even the word 'Blank' are designed to appeal to everybody, everywhere and as hollow as the brand may be, you have to admire how well-packaged it is as an investment vehicle. Every time I take a sip of Blank Street latte, I think about how its success says more about our modern world than just about any other up-and-coming brand. Every critique you make of Blank Street is a critique you can pass onto our society writ-large. You can't help but appreciate the brand once you think of it as modern art.

@AndrewWriteCopy AI is incredible, but also clumsy and awkward in particular ways. I certainly wouldn't let an AI write for me. I like to let AI function as an art director or editor to get new insights, but even then you can't just do everything an AI says. Human judgment is still important.

Why don’t I talk about AI? Simple. I don’t think you should automate what you don’t understand. So I’m here to teach that understanding. And if that means I get less engagement then so be it.

Chat GPT just told me I'm not unclear, I'm just over-permissive with my own options. Now I'm laughing out loud. When did AI become hilarious?

@Jimburgess At the end of the day, mysticism is the most fascinating religious expression, IMHO. People with no access to spiritual experience drink it like water.

Gurus are popular because life is complicated, and increasingly so, and almost nobody knows what they're supposed to be doing or how they're supposed to feel about it. So it's nice for someone to tell you.
