The stat 1 in 3 young men in the UK are living with parents lacks a huge amount of context. I was one of those young men living with his parents in the UK until the age of 27. I wasn't embarrassed. I was working hard, socialising with friends and saving for a deposit on a home. Pretty much all my close friends were in a similar position. Once I had enough I moved out and then started a family. Yes we know its harder to get on the property ladder and children are living with parents for longer because of this. Its nothing new. I'd be interested to see how this stat differs to the rest of the western world - @grok can you answer that one?

There is a direct correlation because the number of hours I do something, and how much I believe in my ability to do it. Ex: The more I write, the more I believe I'm a capable writer. The less I write, the less I believe I'm a capable writer. Applies to everything in life.

What’s something relatively inexpensive (say around or under $100 US) that has had a significant positive impact on your life (health, joy, work, whatever)?

@SteveOnSpeed Throwing more money at a problem rarely solves the problem. it just increases the cost of trying to fix it.

I'd be more accepting of the "tax the rich" rhetoric if I were certain the increased revenue would be used to help those in need and improve our infrastructure rather than more waste, fraud and abuse.

I have £200k left on my mortgage. 20 years at 3.5% I want to pay it off as early as possible (before I'm 40) in lump sums. However the logical decision is to invest more. What do you think is more important - zero debt or larger portfolio?

The world is complicated. Things are always changing. We are constantly learning, being exposed to things we didn't know or consider. Our minds must be flexible and open enough to accommodate this.

Humans have been compounding for so long that now the most minor inconveniences feel like huge problems.

It is being reported that Anthropic has now surpassed OpenAI in annual revenue. If this is true, we just witnessed an old fashioned ass-kicking. Incredible.
