James Madison described the powers of the federal government as “few and defined” and those reserved to the states as “numerous and indefinite.”
We’ve been dangerously drifting from that understanding since the 1930s.
The drift has been most evident in areas now most fraught with waste, fraud, and abuse.
If we honored the Constitution’s limits on federal power, there’d be very little waste, fraud, and abuse in our national government.
Share if you’d like to see a “constitutional reset,” in which any government function that’s not obviously and necessarily federal under the Constitution would be returned “to the states respectively, or to the people,” as the Tenth Amendment specifies.

🇯🇵 Najbardziej polski Japończyk w historii!
Yoshihiro Umeda (wtedy jeszcze Yoshihama) przyjechał do Polski w wieku 13 lat.
Zamieszkał w Łodzi u rodziny Konrada Jarzębskiego, zaangażował się w KOR, a potem w Solidarność. Współtworzył podziemne Radio S, a po stanie wojennym organizował pomoc dla Polski z Francji i Brukseli.
Za swoje zasługi Yoshihiro Umeda otrzymał Krzyż Oficerski Orderu Zasługi RP (oraz pośmiertnie Gwiazdę).
To jest historia, którą każdy Polak powinien znać 🤍🇵🇱❤️

We need to place two winged hussars in front of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw (Poland) as a permanent honor guard.
A member of the Polish Parliament and former presidential candidate, Marek Jakubiak, came up with this idea many years ago. It's time to make it a reality.

Max Hastings is one of very few modern historians to claim that the First World War was justified and that the Allies had to fight it to stop the expansion of German and Austro-Hungarian militarism and authoritarianism.
I tend to think, like most historians, that it was a waste and could have been avoided through diplomatic means.
For example, the Allies could have just let Austria have Serbia.

Madam President of @ecb, Christine @Lagarde, Polish society has noticed an important mistake - Maria Skłodowska-Curie, who is planned to appear on the €20 banknote, is identified only by her husband’s surname. Throughout her entire life, she used the double surname Skłodowska-Curie. This should be corrected to respect both historical accuracy and her Polish identity.

This is supposed to depict the Battle of Prostki in 1656.
