Twitter has no humans. I have an account that got suspended before it even made a single post (I think I followed too many accounts too quickly). I’ve had premium automated recurring payments locked in a suspended account. I can’t remove the cc because the account is suspended, or close the account down. I’ve been trying for over a year. I’m going to have to replace the card entirely to get out of this, which creates a giant task on my end updating all my other recurring payments that use the same card. Crazy way to treat people wanting to spend money on your service.

Do I know anyone who still works at Twitter? I'm having trouble with our ads account and no one there is helping me. On that note: I highly recommend you remove your credit card from your X account if you have it connected. I don't trust @X at all. cc @nikitabier

I relate deeply. I stepped away from a top 200 podcast and a public life. Changed my name. Changed my number. I’m still not sure why, other than something deep calling to me, telling me I’d have to leave everything behind if I wanted to get to where I want to go. Quite an ego death to realize after a few months, nobody remembers you exist. Going on 2 years.

I deleted my x account 18 months ago. Two things I learned: nobody thinks about you as much as you think they do, and so much of the inspiration I kept finding elsewhere actually started here. Also, if you're reading this, you probably assume you still follow me. You probably don't.

ok! quick updates from me: - i left anthropic (who does that?!) - had a baby (i love her) - and am joining @cursor_ai as head of design (eep!) it's been a low-key dream of mine to nurture a team that cares so deeply about craft, quality, and building great tools. very excited!

There is a larger spiritual war happening. Team deep-care vs team who-cares. This is a sign you care. This is you hearing the battle cry of the deep-care within you. We need to crush this careless nihilistic malaises out of our society. These tools are the greatest IQ test mankind has ever taken. This is the greatest mirror we’ve ever had to see our own reflection in. What you see in it, what you choose to do with it, is who you are. Sending a slip-response is an act of war. If I find out you are willing to let me use my limited time reading a message you did not write, you are dead to me.

I'm pondering why I have such a violent, offensive reaction to AI writing or replies that are sent to me, yet I love and use it for many other things like writing coding. I think it has something to do with the fact that when I read something from one of you, I assume that you thought about it and wrote it yourself. And so then I am thoughtful in reading it, and crafting my own reply. When I write, it's really just manifesting a lot more thinking that I've done in an attempt to distill it into words. When I come across (with sadly increasing frequency) things that are clearly AI slop, it feels like a betrayal of trust or complete disregard for my time and thought. At the same time, I use AI regularly to create code for me (and by extension others) and I don't have nearly the same reaction at all. I wonder if it's in part because with coding, there's a long history of using and creating templates or frameworks that are in effect already shortcuts. But I think the bigger reason is just I'm not asking or suggesting that anyone read it, nor representing it as mine. Anyone else feeling this way?

@JohnPhamous As someone with a industrial design background (hardware) I’m learning a ton from following you. Thanks for sharing these breakthroughs with all of us for free. I am just as interested in seeing the problem as well as the solution if that isn’t too disruptive to your workflow.

we updated the page position behavior when changing tabs before the tab might move in the y direction on the page this was based on the tab contents height now the tabs stay fixed, independent of the tab contents height

I got an email from my retirement account provider this week that said “Congratulations, you can start withdrawing your retirement funds in 18 years!” Apparently retirement age begins at 59 and a half. I’m 41 now This is mind-blowing to me, because about half my net worth is in retirement accounts. So half my net worth is getting unlocked in 18 years And 18 years is nothing. I remember 18 years ago like it was yesterday. My oldest son will barely be out of college, assuming he goes So the government has basically forced me to delay spending my money just past the 18-year window when it would have the biggest impact on my kids Past the point when I could use it for their education, travel, care, etc. Past the point when I’m young, healthy, and flexible. Past the point where it would make the biggest difference in my quality of life I don’t know what my point is, but life feels very short from this vantage point

This seems great, but can we get customer service, too? I have a “suspended” account that had never posted anything (I think I followed accounts too fast and triggered it). I’m a “premium” account, but @premium won’t help me. I’ve been trying to appeal OR cancel the account for over a year… won’t let me unsubscribe to premium so I either need to cancel my CC, or report the charge.

Hello friend, thanks for sharing so candidly about your frustrations. As someone who has achieved some monumental highs, and catastrophic lows, he is my perspective for some potential relief. The anxiety you are experiencing is a real experience, but probably not grounded in reality. You are not racing or competing with the entire internet, and many of the shiny “successes” you see will be short lived. Take a moment to reconnect with people who love you, your creator, and the creative spirit that first animated you towards attempting to make something that doesn’t exist yet. They will help stabilize you in rough waters. One of the benefits of “losing everything” (fame, success, riches) multiple times, is you become aware at how temporary it is. The sun keeps rising, even when you’re convinced it’s the end of the world for you. God bless, be kind to yourself, and find someone you can help today with the skills you have. Being of service to others is the quickest way out of the pit of despair.

it is hard to be real these days. it is hard to be real. everybody on social media is trying to sell you something they're trying to one-up you so that they can sell you something. Something that they promise is going to fulfill your need. But is this what you actually need?
