@JKindleman

I work in a library. I live happily in Colorado with my wife and 2 dachshunds. I enjoy a fine cigar with a quality cup of coffee as often as possible.

No state is a “state of faith.” Tennessee belongs equally to Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, and everyone else. We’re a secular nation with a secular Constitution, and public officials are supposed to represent all Americans — not promote one religion.
John Rose@JohnRoseforTN

On National Day of Prayer, I give thanks for the gift of Jesus Christ and the power of prayer that sustains us. Tennessee is a state of faith—let's bow our heads today and trust God with our families, our state, and our future.

Homeland Security shows little respect for the Constitution it’s bound by, from the Establishment Clause to Americans’ individual rights. A federal agency has no business promoting scripture. Do your job and uphold the Constitution.

A government agency shouldn’t promote religious messages—period. When officials invoke scripture, they exclude millions who don’t share those beliefs. Government must serve everyone equally, not endorse religion. Patriotism doesn’t require piety.

‘Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people who he hath chosen for his own inheritance.’ —Psalm 33:12 May God continue to shed his grace on our great nation.

Climate change is a scientific reality with real-world consequences—regardless of what any religious text says about the end of the world. We’re governed by the Constitution, not the “Good Book.”
Minnesota House DFL@mnhouseDFL

GOP Rep. Mary Franson says she's not worried about climate change because it's not in the Bible: "If you've read the Good Book, you know how it ends, and it's not with climate change." How can we expect Republicans to do serious work when they're so proud about ignoring science?

Our troops swear an oath to the Constitution, not to “biblical wisdom.” Military decisions must be grounded in law and duty, not theology.
DOW Rapid Response@DOWResponse

.@SECWAR “When I pray every day for them (our troops) and for this mission—I pray simply for the biblical wisdom to see what is right and the courage to do it.”

The Department of Defense owes its allegiance to the Constitution, not to the bible. Public policy isn’t “biblical.” It’s constitutional. And it must protect believers and nonbelievers alike.
DOW Rapid Response@DOWResponse

.@SECWAR "If I may offer a few observation: Protecting the God-given life of an unborn baby is not political – it is BIBLICAL. Protecting our borders from criminals who steal from us, assault our loved ones, and poison our citizens is not political – it is BIBLICAL. Protecting women and children from being trafficked for sexual slavery is not political – it is BIBLICAL. Standing guard over our children rather than letting them be taught perverse sexual practices or sharing a locker room with someone of the opposite sex is not political – it is BIBLICAL. Protecting our culture and our religion from godless ideologies and pagan religions is not political – it is BIBLICAL."

Counterpoint: no, we really don’t. We need leaders grounded in reality, evidence, and the Constitution, not governing from a single ancient religious text.
Tony Perkins@tperkins

"We need a whole new generation of leaders to arise that have a biblical worldview... So we are having our national leaders read the Bible all the way through to celebrate our 250th birthday of America." @PrayVoteEngage President @bunnipounds shares the heart of @AmericaRTBible.

No one has “kicked God out of the public square.” Every American is free to worship — or not — as they choose. What officials can’t do is use their public office to impose their faith. Stop conflating government neutrality with persecution.
Vice President JD Vance@VP

VP Vance - “You do not have to completely kick God out of the public square, which is what we've done in modern America. It's not what the founders wanted...and anybody who tells you it's required by the Constitution is lying to you.”

Supernatural voices should guide no nation, and certainly not in matters of war and peace. The American people deserve a foreign policy grounded in reason, human rights and long-term stability — not biblical fantasies about holy wars and divine retribution.

Texas Republican congressman Roger Williams on Trump supporting Israel against Iran: "I think President Trump is right... Look, it’s biblical, okay. I’m one of those. It’s biblical. We support Israel. Israel is our friend. We need to be with them."
