@jkdavis89 There's an old joke in the church: if you want to keep a secret, put it in a manual. if you want everyone to know something, start a rumor.

John Davis (Modern Parables)
In our student manuals which was published in 1987 and updated in 2001, It clearly taught that Joseph Smith taught and participated in polygamy before his death. (archive.org/details/Doctri…) The nail in the coffin to those who decry that the church didn't teach about Joseph's polygamy is the fact that it is in our very cannon of scriptures! Section 132 has been in our cannon since the 1870's. I have known that Joseph practiced Polygamy for most of my life, I have learned many more details about his polygamy in the past 15 years, but saying that the church covered up it's history is just plain false.

Heres one just for @stackerco I genuinely cannot remember a time when I didn’t know about Joseph Smith’s polygamy.

@MormonNational "extremely fertile"? I get what you're going for, but didn't he have an average amount of children for the time and most of them didn't make it to 5 years old?

Mormons saying the quiet part out loud. If their prophet wanted to marry hundreds of women they’d just allow him to and not think anything different.
Bruce@brucedeez

@ScipiosGhost Joseph Smith was an Alpha I bet he could have married hundreds of women if he wanted to. He actually showed tremendous restraint in only marrying 30.

@Salt_n_Smoke he seemed pretty open with him in the book of Job. Honestly, I doubt God has any need to keep secrets from Satan. His mighty works cannot be stopped, his words will be fulfilled.

Yes. Absolutely. Step out of your religion for 1 second and think about it. - satan is the greatest deceiver of all. Is he not crafty or wise enough to think of a religion masked in Jesus? Of course he is. That’s why we’re warned about it constantly. Which you pridefully ignore. LDS are so prideful they don’t think they could be deceived because their book says Jesus. - Meanwhile, they put back up the curtain that Christ tore. Believe the Holy Spirit didn’t spread the gospel correctly for 1800 years. Believes the gates of hell did prevail.. Have inverted the beautiful gospel of Jesus.. *also, Jesus was a mystery in the OT. Why? Because God didn’t want the craftiest creature to know Gods plan.. Meanwhile your BoM prophets have blasted the gospel of Jesus to everyone for 600 years BC. If the BoM were true, Satan would have known about all the details of the atonement and he would not have been the driving force to make the crucifixion happen. The adversary opposes Gods plan. He doesn’t knowingly go along with it.
Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint

This guy thinks Satan wrote this haha ——- “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, and we prophesy of Christ, that OUR CHILDREN may know to what SOURCE they may look for a remission of their sins… And now seeing that ye know the light by which ye may judge, which light is the light of Christ, I beseech of you, that ye should search diligently in the light of Christ…; and if ye will lay hold upon every good thing, and condemn it not, ye certainly will be a child of Christ.” - The Book of Mormon

The stupidity of the Mormon religion is completely astounding. People get "the atoning blood of Christ" almost 100 years before he's even born or crucified. Incredible.

I used to be amazed with how much information is out there to refute Mormonism how anyone could be deceived. The damage is so great that when they try to leave they are left in a web they often can’t escape so atheism becomes their demise. For those considering joining them, here are 10 reasons to consider. Jason has a great list here.
Jason Trimble@JasontheLayman

Here are my top ten reasons why Joseph Smith, Jr. was indeed a false prophet: 1. He was not an Israelite. Biblical prophets of the Lord were from one chosen nation, and here's a hint, it wasn't America. 2. He was a proven liar. He lied so often, he couldn't keep his stories straight and even perjured himself in the court of law. 3. The book of Hebrews clearly explains that in times past, God spoke through prophets, but in these last days He has spoken through His Son. We have everything the Lord needed to say to mankind already in the Holy Bible through his actual prophets and apostles. The Lord no longer uses living seers because the Holy Spirit was poured out onto all believers at Pentecost, and God now leads His people to the Truth on an individual basis. Only false prophets have arisen since Saint John the Revelator had passed, and there are too many of these wolves to number. Joseph Smith and Muhammad have been the most deadly of this sort. 4. Nothing Joseph Smith ever said was divinely inspired or even slightly profound. At best, sometimes he repeated things that had already been proclaimed in the Holy Bible. At his worst, he uttered nonsensical theological positions. 5. He kept his adulterous lifestyle hidden from his wife until he got caught, but even then denied any wrong doing. He even excommunicated those who came forward with the truth. He had an insatiable appetite for other men's wives and their young daughters. He was a highly immoral individual and kept many dark secrets. 6. Absolutely no authentic signs and wonders accompanied his ministry. God performed miracles wherever prophets and apostles would go, so His people would know there was a man of God amongst them. Joseph attempted many times to trick others into believing signs were happening, but his hoaxes, (like how he faked walking on water), were discovered each time. 7. He had many prophecies that failed. According to the Bible, only false prophets words do not come to pass, and it takes only one misstep to be deemed a false prophet. 8. He was a complete narcissist. God resists the proud, and I personally believe not one soul on earth boasted more than him. Even Goliath would have blushed at Joseph’s wild claims. 9. He was silenced at a relatively early age. Thankfully, God snuffed out the life of Joseph before he did even more damage here on earth. Who knows what other books he would have conjured up out of thin air, perhaps the Book of Jesus was next on his checklist of heretical writings. 10. He kept company with criminals because he himself was a villain. His militia was stocked full of ruthless and evil men, who would oftentimes intimidate judges and other elected officials. On two separate occasions, he even defrauded many of his own followers when he attempted to illegally start his own bank without a state charter.

@JasontheLayman if those are the top 10 reasons, I'm afraid to ask about the bottom ten. a batch of opinions, falsities, and red herrings. It seems there is no good reason not to accept that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet.
