@luinalaska Maybe you could pop the S off or hide it somehow, and then just say you named your fridge Meg. 👀

I desperately want one of these but the word smeg makes me uncomfortable so it’s a hard pass. Smeg? Absolutely not.

what do these fridges remind you of?

@wife2sirhusband …. Do people not sleep in hours anymore??? 😭
Oh! Maybe that’s why they’re delusional!!!!
English

"hours"
This is delusional. I go hours without talking to MY HUSBAND relatively frequently bc he has a JOB.

@mvpletea I hate the” sorry I didn’t check my phone I was so busy “ it takes legit 30 seconds to send a quick message to someone. If someone can go hours without talking to you they don’t care about you and I will die on that hill

@emilykmay @AniseNot I wrote a whole thread about this last night. You seem reasonable enough to not dismiss it out of hand, if you care to take a look.

I have many long thoughts on this phenomenon, why it happens, and how to fix it. Fair warning; it’s a thread. 🧵

an assumption that women should take on these jobs isn't ideal when it can be crushing to manage all of those tasks. the tired and the oil changes are seasonal/occasional tasks that don't have to be done immediately. we have to eat every day. we have to wear clothes every day.
And I would say there is a moral obligation to know what goes into the daily living of your children. It's just paying attention. It's also being the one who gets the glass of milk. To love people is to pay attention to them.
English

@emilykmay @AniseNot The assumption is not that women SHOULD take on these jobs. The assumption is that the job has already been taken up by someone, and the family unit is better by served by not making two people carry the same mental load.
English

@emilykmay @AniseNot I know you would say it. But to say it means that all the happy people with perfectly satisfying marriages who didn’t were somehow failing a moral obligation, and that’s not only absurd on it’s face and condemning whole generations of good people, it also has no Biblical backing.
English

@emilykmay @AniseNot 1. Okay.
2. Why?
I don’t pay attention to whether or not the family car had it’s tires rotated or when the oil was last changed. I didn’t discuss not caring about those jobs that are integral to our life.
There is no moral obligation to either of your points.

The Jeremy Exciting Show seemed a bit aspirational...
Short Nugget@ShortNugge31517
@JeremyDBoreing lol this guy named his show the jeremy boreing show.
English

@Augieblue01 @AniseNot And thank goodness he married a delightful woman.
English

@JLSFiction @AniseNot Thank goodness my husband isn’t dumb enough to not know what milk we drink.
English

@VanillaFuryYT It’s always good to try to learn from past mishaps, so asking clarifying questions seems a fair idea.
But generally, yes, you just keep trying to be positive and kind, and trust God to use your words how you meant them: for the good of others.
