According to the WSJ, Iran fired two intermediate-range ballistic missiles toward the US–UK military base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean — roughly 3,800 km from Iran, marking one of the longest-range targetings of the war — but neither hit the base. According to US officials, one missile failed mid-flight while another was engaged by a US warship using an SM-3 interceptor, though it remains unclear whether the interception was successful, and the exact timing of the launch was not specified.
