We support BC Nurses!! It takes a lot to push nurses to strike but it seems that the BC gov't has managed to anger the dedicated and selfless workers of the @BCNursesUnion led by @adrianegear to the point of workplace action. In a historic strike vote of 50,000 nurses, 98.2 % voted for job action. It turned out that the COVID testing centre was the original clinic (in a waiting room with everyone else) and different than every other community in the province, not to mention the Northwood crisis which had many black residents. That is what I will remember if him!

Strang treated the black community different than others during COVID. An outbreak in Enfield, he said we need to protect the community identity, then an outbreak in the Prestons and Cherry Brook, he calls out the people for partying and inviting family from away.

The federal government can immediately activate Section 14 of the Canada Health Act and apply financial penalties, including withholding all future health-transfer payments to AB, say Drs Dan Raza and Braden Manns. These health-transfer payments amount to nearly a quarter of a provincial health budget. For Alberta, that represents $7 billion per year, an amount that cannot be ignored. Those who say there is no money and the public system is failing are just plain wrong. @ShayeGanam @CHED880 @cspotweet Alberta wants to create two-tier medical coverage with Bill 11, and it is deliberately starving the public system. Between 2014 and 2023 (the most recent data available), provincial real per capita hospital spending in Alberta declined by four per cent, from $2,252 to $2,169. The @Alberta_UCP does not actually know what it’s doing apart from wanting to hand over the public universal health care system to private for profit interests.
