“Once saved, always saved” is totally UNBIBLICAL, as Christ AND St. Paul prove:
• Heb 6:4-6 – describes sharers in Holy Spirit [true believers] who THEN FALL AWAY
• Heb 10:26-27 – if sin AFTER receiving truth [true believers], JUDGMENT REMAINS
• 2 Tim 2:11-13 – [true believers] MUST HOLD OUT TO THE END to reign with Christ
If we [true believers] endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we [true believers] deny Him,
He also will deny us.
• Rom 11:22 – [true believers must] REMAIN in his kindness or YOU WILL BE CUT OFF
• Gal 5:4 – separated from Christ [having been true believers], YOU’VE FALLEN FROM GRACE
• Matthew 24:13: “But he [the true believer] who endures to the end will be saved.” Meaning, he who does NOT endure to the end will NOT be saved.
• Matthew 24:44: “Therefore YOU [true believers] MUST BE READY; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” If your salvation is assured, why do you have to be “ready”? Who cares when He comes?
• Colossians 1:21-23: “He has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, PROVIDED that you [true believers] continue in the faith…” Meaning, there’s NO guarantee.
• 1 Corinthians 9:27: “But I [a true believer] pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” Paul obviously thinks disqualification is a possibility.
• The Letter to the Hebrews BY ITSELF confirms that even true believers can lose their salvation (6:4-8; 10:26-31; 12:14-17). This applies to GENUINE Christian “brethren” who “fall away” from God if they allow their hearts to become “evil” & “unbelieving” (3:12).
