If you’ve ever been to Norway you’d realize it’s a very lovely place but the people live very utilitarian lives and there is nowhere near the quality of life you find in the US. It’s a nice, basic place to live with no urban turmoil, an homogeneous culture and not a lot of sunlight…

@KobeissiLetter And inflation? Still cool at 1.34% . Strong growth without the heat. Hard not to appreciate that.

Saruman was such a great organiser and leader. Had a solution for every problem

I don’t have a problem with him dancing - it’s the delusional, nonsensical, undeliverable, unaffordable policies that I object to. If you tax billionaires they will leave. If you tax private jets they will fly from/to somewhere else. If you nationalise private industries, taxpayers will have to pay for that and the interest on the debt. If confiscate private businesses no sensible investors/entrepreneurs will ever invest in the UK. If you impose rent controls you’ll see a reduction in supply and more homelessness. The remaining taxpayers who can’t or don’t want to leave will face exorbitant levels of tax/inflation totally out of control. We’d be an economic basket case within months.

Time to get the 'big coat' back out 🧥 Temperatures are dropping widely below average but in brisk northerly winds, it will be feeling closer to freezing for many of us 🥶

A survey has revealed that 35% of Brits admit taking a glass home from the pub in the past year. And it's costing landlords more than a £130 million pounds to replace them. We sent Philip Sime to the pub to find out more.
